| I LOVE Minnesota weather. It's kinda cloudy today, and there's a thin layer of snow on the ground - but you can still see the grass.

What exactly is that?
It is cold today but nice. I am getting ready to freeze my butt off once again this winter.

:kcool: | I love minnesota weather. Absolutely love it. It's been cloudy the last few days. SNOW! "I'm dreaming of a white Thanksgiving. . . just like the 20 years before. . ." Anyway. It wouldn't be thanksgiving without snow.

| ya know, i like snow, but my car is kinda broken and i only have one headlight right now.... and until i can get my car fixed i hope it doesn't snow. so that i don't worsen my chances of getting in an accident. sometimes i think i hate snow, but then i miss it. right now i miss it. a month after it snows i will hate it.

| hehehe... sorry about that.
minnesota nice is a concept that people from minnesota are naturally nice. i don't completely agree. i think it's more common in rural minnesota, but definitely not so in minneapolis. the thing about "minnesota nice" in small towns is that they are nice to your face, and then behind your back they will kinda talk about you like you are weird. kind of because they have to be, or at least feel obligated, you know? it's actually kinda funny.
my dad, i just realized, is mn nice. he came over to visit me, i live close to a rough area. there was a tire store we were referred to and so we went there to get a new tire. this lady came in to buy something or other and my dad said hello to her, because small town people do that (minnesota nice). she kinda looked at him out of the corner of her eye and appeared very weirded out and nervous. she left the room quickly. i wanted to tell my dad that you don't just talk to anyone in the ghetto, but i didn't wanna make him feel dumb.
that's not as bad as my mom. she went to seattle to visit my sister. they got on a bus at one point and my mom had to sit next to a homeless guy. she apparently introduced herself and said stuff like, "oh yeah, i've never been here before..... this is my daughter, she lives really close to here...... etc etc." my sister scolded her like she was my mom's mom. so both my parents are minnesota nice. my sister and i are nice, but we are not "minnesota nice". there is a difference. my mom and dad are also nice apart from their minnesota niceness. but anyways, that is what "minnesota nice" is.

My bro also used to live by a rough intersection of Minneapolis (I think it was near lake and chicago, but those two are paralell, anyhow. . .) and he got along quite nicely with most of the people. Like you said, he's very nice, but not the Minnesota kind of "nice." He's had a great time living there, though, and has gotten to know so many people.

| that's really weird. i lived on lake and columbus last year, a block from lake and chicago.... where they intersect. it was very close to lake and chicago where this happened with my dad. i think it was close to bryant, but i'm not sure. but yeah. i lived on columbus just about 1/4 a block from lake. funny what a difference 1/4 of a block can make. it was pretty peaceful there. but about 50 ft away it was crazy. when did your bro live there?
