My wife and I have recently found this awesome strategy card game called "Loot". We found it at Wal-Mart one night while we were looking for a game we could play together. It cost $4.94, and is such a fun game. We have introduced it to our friends and have become addicted to it, even to the point of playing it anywhere from 7 or 8pm to 3-7am. It's a strategy game with pirates, where you have to capture merchant ships which are worth a certain number of points (determined by the amount of gold coins they are carrying) and the most gold or "Loot" at the end of the game wins. It won an award from Mensa, which for those of you who don't know, is a club or organization for geniuses. It has also recieved these awards: The Dr. Toy Smart Toy Award, the Parent's Choice Silver Award, the Major Fun Award and an award from the Canadian Toy Testing Council. We have played with so many people so much, we had to buy another deck to complicate the strategy of the game.
I seriously recommend this game to anyone who likes strategy. They say that it's for children 10+, but if you are older, you will like it even more. The challenge only gets harder the better the people playing at strategy are. (not sure about that sentence structure, but you get the gist of it!?!) You don't even have to like card games to like this one. Enjoy!!

I know this thread is over two months old, but Loot is such a good game that I need to reply. My wife bought it a few weeks ago and it is amazing. Surprisingly strategic and the complexity sneaks up on you. If you're looking for a new game, this is it.
