Having been a missionary, its the most incredible job. Relying on God and seeing Him move in the hearts and minds of people is the most rewarding thing ever. My friend went so far to say he wouldn't like to devote his professional life to mission because its too easy.

A church leader for a congregation of a handful of senior citizens with no life. That would grind me down so much!
You can't be serious. This is one of the most shallow things I've ever read on this forum.

I'd like to defend myself here. I've been a part of a church where there have been a regular attendance of 10, and that was including myself, my aunty, uncle and cousin, which means there were 6 others, all over 50. That in itself was so difficult, as there is very little to be really excited about. That, and the fact that all of the people there are incredibly English middle class and it feels like lip service. Personally, that would be one of the hardest things I would ever have to do. Trying to encourage these people to open up their lives to God's calling. Challenging with issues that are so ingrained into their lifestyle that its like talking to a brick wall. My uncle is the main church warden and allows my cousin and her boyfriend to stay in the house in the same room, same bed. There is a fundamental problem that I don't think I could address as a pastor in the church.
Poopsmith would be tricky too.
As for the death penalty, I think the whole issue of judgement is so tough as a christian and the death penalty was an afterthough. How do we seperate our faith from having to make decisions about peoples lives that affects them so greatly. That responsibility I would have to pass up. As for the death penalty, thats a bigger issue right? After all, look at Jesus and the woman caught in adultery. The point I would take from it is that we are in a convenant of grace and none of us are any more equipped to cast judgement since we don't deserve what we have in Jesus anyway.
Was this thread ever mean't to be this serious?
