Tim --> Below is the final draft of the essay <--

Get in the "String" of Things, by Tim and Adam.
Over the years, our musical abilities have helped create who we are as people. Some people have a spectacular voice and others can play the harp while those around listen with awe. Out of the many musical instruments that I can play, the piano was the first that I attempted to master, but the acoustic guitar is the instrument that I am now pursuing with great passion. These two musical instruments, acoustic guitar and piano, have many properties in common, such as strings and playing methods, however they also have differences, including size and tuning properties.
“What do these two instruments have in common?” you might ask. Firstly, both instruments are musical, and the reason behind this musical quality is the presence of strings with different thickness that vibrate at varying speeds to create the sound. Secondly, both of these musical instruments can be played with your hands, making them very flexible in range and creativity. Thirdly, most acoustic guitars and pianos are made with wood and metal put together in one to create a “contraption” that gives out a magnificent sound when played correctly.
Along with the similarities that the guitar and piano share, there are many differences as well. The main difference that you may notice is the size of the two instruments. The acoustic guitar is relatively small and lightweight, and uses six to twelve strings, on average, to create many different notes. However the piano has 88 strings that when struck individually create 88 different pitches. Other smaller differences appear when you examine how the sound is created. The acoustic guitar’s strings are plucked or strummed with your fingers, whiled being pressed with the other hand’s fingers to create the chord combinations. On a piano, a mallet, connected to a key, hits the piano’s strings, which your finger strikes. One final difference is the method of tuning used to create a majestic sound from both instruments. The guitar has tuning mechanisms, called tuning pegs, on the end of the neck where the musician can alter the sound of the strings by twisting the knobs. The piano requires a highly trained technician to tune it properly. Years of play can effect how well this instrument sounds and how easily it tunes. Each string is separate from one another, making it a gruelling task to tune the entire piano. A task that can take up to 6 hours!
After looking at both instruments and where they are alike and where they differ, one could choose the piano because it can create harmonious melodies if played by a master and the chords are easier to construct. Or you could choose to play the acoustic guitar, which is much more fun, in my opinion, to play due to the challenge of mastering the chord positioning, however it has no higher degree of difficulty to play than the piano. For both instruments, a great amount of skill is required that is only obtained from many hours of practice After thinking long and hard about which instrument I enjoy to play more than the other, I would have to choose the guitar because it is a newer instrument to myself, and the new challenge “sparks” my interest extremely.

| I noticed the period, so I added it, and I'll lost 1/2 a mark for that wording, but otherwise, I think it's more than 20/30
I'll let you know when I find out
Tim
