CHEAP GUITARS WILL RULE!!!

I play a low end Epiphone SG for Screamo/Hardcore stuff and it works awesome. How many of you out there use a cheap guitar? If you do and you like it a lot, post it here!

What's the price range(in your opinion) for a cheap guitar?

All you have to do to get good tones for hardcore and screamo is turn the gain all the way up, highs 12, mids 0, highs 12. Has nothing to do with the guitar in this case.

*sigh*

hmm..... If I played screamo, I would get a first act and an incredibly huge amp.

But I don't.

*edit* I didn't think about the title till I left the thread...It seems like cheap guitars will rule. Most of the music I see being bought is metal and grunge--screamo...which you don't need a quality guitar for...

Epiphone does make some good low priced guitars... they also make stinkers though.

i play an epiphone les paul standard, to tell you the truth, i would take epi over most things. I have the cheapest cheap guitar also, an epi strat wannabe but crappy humbuckers and a crooked neck. Now that is an awesome guitar. To see a pic of it, check out the peavey bass thread in the bass section, its next to my bass. Although they are in cartoon from my computer, thats what it looks like.

I have a cheap ariana strat copy that I may someday put some good stuff in it, but I don't really use it that much unless I need a single coil sound for a recording (I.E. surf music. it ain't goin to happen with my lp)

I have cheap guitars - Memphis, Kramer - and some mid-priced guitars in the used range of $425 to $800 (G&L's and Fenders) and a couple of guitars in the $1,000 range (Fender and Heritage). Sorry, but I almost never play the cheapos which seem to have their issues. But, if cheap is all you can afford, get the best you can buy. Used is a great way to go.
