Band with the best bass lines

What band consistently has your favorite bass lines?

Mine would have been Newsboys (mostly because of Take Me to your Leader), but I'm gonna say Switchfoot in light of Phil Joel's recent adoption of boring bass lines.

I believe that your favorite basslines would be likely be played by your favorite bassist when he is playing for your favorite band

Yeah, Phil Joel belongs to the Newsboys and he's been slacking off on bass, forcing me, by default, to choose Switchfoot.

I know that Phil Joel is a member of the Newsboys...what does that have to do with my post?

He was commenting that we will all have our own favorites and biases, and that everyone will have think a different band has the best this or the greatest that.

With that said, I have to say that John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin never wrote a bass line that wasn't perfect for the song.

i think Project 86 owns all in this competion. Their use of the 5-string bass as a rhythm guitar is amazing!
