| Band of Brothers? Alright, best show/miniseries ever! I can only pray that they release all of them on DVD by Christmas (so I can add it to my list). I can't pick a 'best' episode b/c they were all so good... oh well, another WWII success by Spielberg and Tom Hanks. |

| I don't think I have a favorite one either. It was all so good. We taped it so we wouldn't have to hope for a DVD. Though if it does come out on DVD we'll probably get it. |

| Yeah my family and I sat and watched it ever week it was incredible to think how real that was and that my grandfather had been in Normendy...wow...although I hated all the cussing and horrible usage of the Lord's name but I know that was probably very realistic just as the whole thing was.

| Will HBO re-air this??? I tried taping these and got about 3 episodes.
How many were there total? 7 episodes?
If HBO will just re-air them maybe I can tape the rest. |

| Oh man, what a great series... totally beats out anything else as favorite war movie, cept for SPR...
Since I don't have HBO, we (my fam and I) went to our friends house... who's dad happens to be a Ranger, and the most excited person in the room every sunday night, well half-way throught the series, he gets deployed so he misses out on the greatness of the rest of the episodes.... oh yeah, could you pray for him, he's still deployed to you know where...
I think the episode about Roe the medic was my favorite, that and the D-Day one!

| Since it is a mini-series it can;t really classify under the movie title like Saving Private Ryan, but you can see the imagery and effects used were inspired by SPR. But you know thats cause Mr. Hanks and Mr. Spielberg Exec. Produced the series.
I have always loved anything about World War II, I guess I feel that was the last real war. The last great war, fighting against an evil that threatened the whole world.
I don't know if you all have ever felt this way, but sometimes I feel that I don't belong in this time or age. Like I should've been born back in like 1917 or something so I could fight in WWII as an infantry soldier or as a P-51 pilot.
But I guess there's a connection that since my grandfather and his brothers fought in the war.
We just got BoB on DVD and I am at Episode 5 which I will probably watch tonight since I will have to stay up all night to finish some projects before 9 am today.
Oh well once this day is over I am going to sleep for an eternity.
God Bless All,

| I know what you mean, the 1940's have always been my favorite time period... I have so much respect for the people of that generation, most of whom volenteered to go off and fight...
Yeah, I see what you're saying about SPR... But SPR is like 2 1/2 episodes of BOB.
I bought it on DVD a while ago... awesome is all I have to say, the special extra disk w/ interview w/ the actors, then interviews with the real member's of Easy are amazing!
and I still think Episode 6. the one about Doc Roe, in Bastogne is the best, the only one that might beat that is Episode 2. about D-Day

| Excellent production by Spielberg / Hanks (even though it was based on a book by Stephen Ambrose ) They did the book justice. The DVD set would be great...

| I actually really liked Episode 4 the one in Holland I can't remember the name of the town they are supposed to protect, but there seems to be more human nature to this episode since we see more than just men fighting but how the locals deal with war and women who slept with the Nazi's.
Just amazing to me.
I am gonna watch six tonight. |

| The book was great, Ambrose was a great writer...
I watched Ron Livingstons (Nix's) video Diary entry's yesterday (on the bonus DVD) it was pretty interesting... some great extra features there...
The other aspect of this series, is all the new affects they were able to create, to simulate combat..
