I collect anything Star Wars (comics, video games, books, cards, action figures, everything.) I've got quite a collection now and I've only been at it two years.
I guess you could say I collect guitars and other gear, but once I get a few more guitars I'm going to stop. I used to collect bottle caps and rocks when I was little, but it got out of hand and I had to get rid of them. I also used to collect football cards, I have over 1000, but then they switched monday night football to ESPN (I don't have cable) and I've lost track of football.

Guitars, huumm, interesting. Do you have a room only for your guitars? I can see crystal on shelves displayed, but where do you keep your guitars and what do you do with them, other than having them on show. Do you bring them out and give them a clean often or are they in full view of your guess to see? Nice!

I decorated my room a bit. My friends and I mostly took them from stores just to get reactions from people. We'd also leave some on people's doorsteps or yards, sometimes we'd throw them out the window as we drove.
That type of thing.
It drove my parents crazy.

I collect license plates from states that I've been to. It's best when the car owners don't catch me.

I do too, and old books. My oldest books, which happens to be a hymnals are 1849, and 1861. Medical book from 1887 is very interesting. Most my books are from early 1900's. You can see some of my books behind me.

Its amazing some of the old hymnals and bibles one can get at second hand stores and charity sales. In fact some Christian sellers will literally give them away. Last week I purchased an old Hymnal by Charles Alexander for $3 just for the musical scores. Its dated 1915, but I know that there many older ones out there.

But I am primarily collecting banknotes (seriously). I started with stamps and coins, but I find international paper currency more interesting and stimulating, and contrary to a lot of beliefs, its not necessarily an expensive hobby. Many countries cancel their redundant banknotes and they lose their monetary value. Most of my speciments cost around $1. Once you get out of North America and Western Europe, items are dirt cheap.

It's kind of strange but I've been saving my guitar string packages for probably the past 8 or 9 years. I collect the string envelopes as well as the front of the packaging.

I keep thinking that one of these days I'll build a house and wallpaper my amp room with my old string packaging.

I also think of it as a representation of my history as a guitar player with the packs of strings I used to play shows or beat out the hard at the time guitar part. I couldn't however tell you which packs were which.
