Review of DiMarzio Bluesbucker with clip

I pasted my reply to another thread below, and attached a clip at I-Dude's request.

Dimarzio's Bluesbucker is a great pickup IMO for the neck position of an LP or other humbucker guitar. It has good output to match bridge humbuckers, but its s'posed to be a P90-ish tone. It has 2 coils like a regular humber, but only one coil is "active", the other is a "dummy" coil, and doesn't have magnetic polepieces. In its full mode, both coils in circuit, IMO its a bit fatter than a P90, but more single-coilish than a humber. Unlike most humbucker pickups, its split mode doesn't have a huge drop in volume, so its more usable in a real world application than most straight humber splits. In the split mode its strat-like. I have one in an LP copy and really like it.

The Clip - An older Samick set neck all mahogany LP copy, similar to an Epi. Its just a dirt simple quick recording - my Vox Tonelab, AC 15 model with some reverb into the computer soundcard without any processing, mastering, or fancy stuff. Its 3 parts, amp settings the same throughout. The first part is the bridge pickup (Pearly Gates) for reference. Second part is the Bluesbucker neck pickup in "full" humbucker mode. Third part is the split mode of the BB.

don't resurrect old threads like this. and the clip probably got lost when we lost all the attachments a while back. i think it was due to some database loss or something. I don't remember.
