GIF Transparency? (quick help)

I need this image as a transparent .GIF
http://themarque.org/wp-content/them.../img/title.gif
So it will be transparent in IE.
Its driving me crazy.
I have downloaded so many programs and either the program doesnt work...is stupid...or it is so confusing to figure out how to work...just to create transparency.
Thanks.

I think this will come out way too light, but if you tell me what the font is (and I have it), I can easily re-make it for you.

edit: Yeah, that is totally butchered

Oh, and btw, I just used the 'select contiguous regions' wand, selected all the text, went to select -> invert, and then I simply used the cut command.

I still don't like the way it chopped it, though it did a far superior job to what I used
