Creating the ULTIMATE small multi-combo amp

I was wondering if anybody has ever done anything like Im about to explain.

In thinking about busting up my 2x12 combo, an interesting idea popped up in my head.

Ive got 3 or 4 smaller combo amps. Would it be possible to take the chassis out of these things and put them all into 1 "head". Then use 1 or 2 of these speakers and build a cab...or even use it as a head for my 2x12?

if any of those are tube, don't forget about proper cooling. but other than that, interesting idea, although it's not that different from rack-mounted amps.

My Marshall ATV20 DOES have a tube pre, but the peavey and vox are SS.

But has anybody ever seen this done? I thought it was a good idea.

what are you going to do with them while they aren't being used?

aer you planning on keeping the entire amp (pre and power) or just the pre-amp sections?

with SS (and I count the AVT as SS), this setup should be fine. Normally SS amps don't react badly to running unloaded. you might try to find something that will maintain a load and allow you to switch between the heads. I believe ToneBone and/or Weber makes something that will work for this.

I am doing something of the sort, but its a combo, with two seperate tube amps in a valve jr combo. Both will be permanently affixed to a load
