I think I just found my next amp

My 40 watt Hot Rod Deluxe makes my hair stand on end, I can't imagine what that would be like cranked.

If someone bought that, I don't think they'd be planning on attenuating for "bedroom levels". That could be used in an outdoor concert...

Person 1: "I got a 100w tube amp with a massive cab with 4x12 speakers.."
Person 2: "Well let's just say I have a 16x12 cab....."

now i'm sure crate is marketing amps in a "more watts equals more tone, and a better amp" manner.

i wonder how many recto's could be purchased for the price of that amp?

Crate has been marketing their amps like that for a long time. I'm pretty sure that's why all of the GX, GFX, MX, etc, 212s were 120W instead of 100W.

that being said, I really doubt you'll ever see one of these monstrousities in your local Guitar Center
