| The Official LotR Quote Game The last thread was getting confusing and to help reestablish it and make the game clear to everyone, we'll just start over.
This is the LotR quote game. In it a quote is posted and everyone else tries to guess who said it. Additional Rules: (Adapted from LotR Trivia)
1) Material that can be covered:
-The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Material from all three films.
-When stating a quote, say that it is from either the book or one of the movies. You do not have to say which one in particular, just that it comes from one or the other medium.
2) After a quote has been posted, there will be a three day period for people to reply. If no one has guessed the answer within three days of the quote being posted, anyone may post a new one.
3) If someone answers correctly, he/she will have 48 hours in which to post a new quote. If no new quote is posted, then anyone can ask a question.
4) If a quote is posted that is found in both the movies and the book or if it differs slightly between the two, the book quote shall be considered authoritative. However, this should not be a problem if the second part of rule one if followed.
5) Keep the cheapness down. This is a game thread - don't hold a conversation in the middle of it.
6) Do not answer unless you are 95% (or more) sure that you know the answer.
7) Do not post "yes" or "no" posts with no other content in them. Those posts are considered cheap and will be deleted.
-----------------------------------------------
To start things off, here's an easy one:
"I will not parley, as I have said, with armed men at my gate."
From The Hobbit

| no, but it's when bilbo just ot out of Moria, and found the dwarves and Gandalf again, and he sneaks (using the ring) past Balin, and walks into the group, suprising them.

~Rahvwen | That also popped into my head but I didn't want to guess twice so that someone else would have the chance
