| JUST AN INNOCENT QUESTION I'M JUST WONDERING ABOUT NON-DENOMINATIONAL BELEIFS BECAUSE OF SOMETHING MY DAUGHTER EXPERIENCED THE OTHER NIGHT WHILE ATTENDING WITH A FRIEND. AT THIS PARTICULAR CHURCH THE PASTOR SENT OUT A PRAYER TO COMDEMN ALL THAT DID NOT ATTEND HIS CHURCH.
I THOUGHT THIS WAS RATHER STRANGE BEING EVERYONE IN THE WORLD CANNOT ATTEND HIS CHURCH. ANOTHER THING IS THAT HE BASICLY SAID
ALL CATHOLICS ARE GOING TO HELL. WELL I DON'T WANT TO BE MISUNDERSTOOD BUT ISN'T THAT FOR THE LORD TO DECIDE. |

| That pastor is a loony, but there is no such thing as "non-denominational beliefs." Non-denominational churches are only united by the fact that what they believe does not coincide with a denomination. There is no union of belief among non-denominational churches. They are independant of each other.

| Yep. Anyone who is praying for the condemnation of others has no right to do that in my POV. "judge not" anyone?

| that's really horrible. I know that there are some churches (non-denoms and otherwise) that espouse such doctrine, but it is completely non-biblical. If you're concerned about your daughter buying into such lies, I suggest that you go over the basics of salvation put out directly from the Bible. If I recall correctly Jesus never said, "No man comes to the Father but by Me as long as they're a member of Church X" |

Can we ever say that passage safely? | You realize that the point of the passage IS NOT "judge not" but rather that you need to purify yourself so that you can rightly hold others accountable to God's standards. The passage doesn't end with that cute bit about the log in your eye. The passage continues on to say that once you have removed the log from your eye that you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother. You need to purify so that you can "judge" others according to His standard without being a hypocrite |

ALL CATHOLICS ARE GOING TO HELL. WELL I DON'T WANT TO BE MISUNDERSTOOD BUT ISN'T THAT FOR THE LORD TO DECIDE. | Yeah brother I think that was totally out of line, and i believe that all churches have a slightly differing worldview, which can really be a barrier betweent "denominations", but Ive been confirmed into the Catholic Church, the Methodist Church, and now attend a non-denominational church and I can tell you some churches just dont have their cap on quite straight enough. And another thing that I believe is that we cant steriotype churches due to one experiance either, but i also think that its those churches that make all that believe, and I mean really believe that Christ died on the cross for us look like major hypocrits. I think that the best thing we can do as the ones that follow Christ is to ask the Big Four questions to them and see if their ideas really stand true to the word they supposedly believe in, and I can asure you that they will either see that they are failing before God or they will deny it completely. And personally I think that we all need to pick those fallen Christians up from the heap and show them what problems they are causing. Well youve heard my 2 cents and I hope it meant something. Be Blessed.
In Christ,
-Jim
((and brother if you cant reach that church and make them realize whats up then i wouldnt be sending your daughter there anymore, but I would strongly advise that you confront someone in that church about it)
If you have any questions you can email me at jt_darter@yahoo.com or get me on aim at jimman5556)) |

| i know for a fact that what the pastor said has nothing to do with that denomination, where he based that and how he got it past the elder board or whatever that particular church calls it i haven't a clue.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |

But seriously, unfortunately this is the type of stuff you hear in some churches (Boy I could tell you some stories). Thank God we are to judge Christianity by Christ not by Christians, because let's be real, we're all wacko at times.
