| The Beach Boys I thought about merging this with the older thread, but it has a lot of silly Pink Floyd talk in it. Here is a new thread.
I've spent the better part of the night ripping all of my Beach Boys vinyl onto CD and just had to start a thread on what I consider without a doubt the most beautiful music on the planet.
Of course there's Pet Sounds, which is without a doubt a masterpiece, but there is so much more than just that one album. There's the already mastered production genius of Brian Wilson heard on Today, the seamless harmonies heard on Summer Days (and Summer Nights), or the fun of trying to piece together what the original Smile should sound like. Not to mention my favorite driving game: count how many times the Beach Boys mention the word 'surf'.
Everyone should listen to the Beach Boys. They may not be as influencial at the Beatles, but they certainly were the only American rival.

| I do believe the song is actually called Misirlou, if we are thinking of the same song. The Beach Boys did a version of it, but isn't half as good as the original.

| I haven't posted in here yet because I wasn't sure what I'd say. I guess the only thing I'll say is that The Beach Boys are possibly my favourite pop group ever.
Chris, is this your 4th or 5th Beach Boys thread? |

| the Beach Boys are amazing in every way. Except maybe that they were on the substance...maybe. I'll have to think more about whether that added to how amazing they are.

| The Beach Boys were one of my favorite bands growing up. One thing though, they didn't sound very good live. |
