I research a growl bass sound like...

Hi all, i have a couple of questions. First, i want a growl sound like My glorious by Delirious. I find his sound amazing!! Do you know how i can have a sound like him...(perhaps to play close to the bridge.. or play with a little bit of fuzz or overdrive.. i don't know). Second, if you know a bass who sound like that, tell me it!

thanks in advance for your help guy's, god bless you.

I don't know that band right off the top of my head, but I think the growl you are looking for usally comes for your low-mids. I also looked at some pics of the band and it looks like the bassist play an Ernie Ball Musicman, and that bass has the MM style humbucker pick-up in the "sweet spot" which also helps in the growl-like tone. Warwicks, have an amazing growl to them when you adjust the lows, and the low-mids just right, I own one so I know. But play with your low-mids if your amp has them and you might get it.

Hope that helped!

I've always heard the term "growl" associated with single coil pickup configurations like the Fender Jazz bass or Warkwick Corvette Standards (my bass), and I'm sure that a single coil growl is different from a humbucker/low-mid boost growl if you listen carefully.
