| Strawberry Marshmallows. I need a place to post my mega mind-purges. So here it is. Anyone is welcome to mind-purge here. At any time. And in any shape and size. Yes. Let's mind-purge together.
Many thanks to Mara, June/Mrs. M/MtlMom, Andrew, Laura and Jason who have allowed me to mind-purge rent free for months. They are The Wonderful. But it's time for me to leave the cocoon. It's time for me to spread my wings and leave the nest. It's time for me to pack my bags and head north. It's time...for a mind-purge.
This one is rather mindless. Consider yourself warned.

Today was completely irresponsible. I went to "work" with Mr. D. We spent the entire day together while the children stayed home playing Legos and watching Lost on DVD.
While Mr. D did worky things I chatted with my dear friend Mrs. O for a nice, long time. She went to a conference about intelligence and we had fun dissecting one another and all nine of our children and our husbands and our friends. I think we decided that I am primarily Word Smart, People Smart, Self Smart and maybe Color Smart (?). I don't know about that last one. Anyway, it was so lovely to talk with her. She is one of my soul-friends. Mr. D suggested we move to Wisconsin and live in the upstairs of the church they are renovating. We could have a very large garden and a small orchard and live off the land sortof. This will never happen.
I also went to some of my favorite places in the world. Penzey's (the spice shop), Half-Price Books and Pier 1.
Penzey's is the most amazing place. Truly. The smells are out of this world. Next time I go I want to pick up some Singapore Seasoning (one of their own blends) and some Vindaloo seasoning for my sister. She loves Chicken Vindaloo. Today I picked up some special things times two. Some for me and some for someone else. Yay.
Half-Price books was sortof a bust. I needed something from there that they did not have. But I did pick up a nifty little punctuation reference and a geography resource and the book Loving God With All Your Mind.
Pier 1 helped me decide on the colors for my kitchen I think. I loved our kitchen in Des Moines. We gutted the kitchen, turned it into the fabulous and then put it on the market. We had natural maple cabinets with mocha brown walls and a splash of kindofrobin'seggbluebutsofterandwithmoregreen. It was smashing if I do say so myself. I love it so much that I would love to duplicate that same scheme, but I would like the fun of doing something different. So Pier 1 had some amazing dishes with different colored squares and dots and three colors popped out at me that I've been tossing around in my head and it completely confirmed it for me. Green, orange and red. Very specific green, orange and red. I am going to find the colors and post them. When we refinish the cabinets they will be kind of a tobacco light brownish. This is too long. Sorry.
Ian has just proudly shown me his homemade utility belt. It's held together with white nylon rope and it's kind of dark in here, but I can tell he has blunt scissors, a butterknife, something that looks like measuring spoons, a forever flashlight and half of a curtain rod. That boy is prepared. Prepared for what, I don't know, but prepared nonetheless.
Salamanda's van broke. About a week after spending $800 on it. Or something like that. She says her van is from the devil. And she said a bad word. I'm going to call mom.
Speaking of mom/Grammy, her tests came back normal which is good and bad. The assumption is that her symptoms are the RA. So there is not really anything they can do to curb them at this point. She is already full of meds. It gets hard to keep praying for healing. Is there like a timeframe for miraculous healings? Say within the first three years? And after that you pray for less pain and more energy? NO.WAY. God, please heal her...

| Oh, wow. I am the impressed. Consider this me subscribing.
Chicken vindaloo - is good. Though lamb korma is better. Does your family cook Indian food much?
Your mother - I'll continue to pray about this. Did you read my PM about that?

| The last time I was at Half-Price Books was when I bought Supernatural and Stand Up.
I love that store, now.

| Hooray for the blog! I think this is a fabulously solemn moment. And a good post to begin a blog with. I am really happy in here. This is a good thing. I feel like I was in the delivery room when this was birthed. *pumps fist* |

I have no idea what lamb korma is so you'll need to explain. I don't know anything about chicken vindaloo either except that it is Salamanda's favorite Indian dish. I have two recipes that require curry. That it as close as I get. Salamanda's husband, Salachada, LOVES Indian food and maybe he will make some for us one of these days. And then we can chew on cumin seeds when we're done eating.
You know what, Ryan? You have mentioned PMs that I don't think you ever sent. Or something happened. Not sure what. I just remember you mentioning them and thinking, "I don't think I got that PM." I'msosorry. Quote: |

I was lucky enough to talk with Mrs. O all through the night tonight. I am so lucky. We had incredibly important things to discuss. The Bachelor Finale...don't think less of me. Girlfriends are the best. And then we solved the worlds problems. AGAIN. And discussed youth ministry. I love her.
I had another important phone call that was much shorter, but was no less important. I love that person, too. They know that.

I have exactly eight subscribed threads and all of them are CGR blogs, and all of them are people I care about. It is funny how this fraternal Christian love thing works over the internet, isn't it? | Hrrm. It's a very, very mild, sweet curry with a coconut milk and peanut base. And a lot of raisins. It is teh incredible. It is more of a North Indian dish, though, I think. Vindaloo is verymuch South Indian. I have all this on the authority of my best friend from back in Kingston, Mike, who is half Indian, and whose mom makes the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Ever. Props to Mrs. Trick. Quote:

The aforementioned Awesome Mom (that is what I shall call her) uses whole cardamoms in her cooking. Biting into one is interesting. Quote: |
