Mara's Mom said: Well, hello there, Adri.
| Hello Mrs. D. Good. It has been a while. Quote: |
We purchased the pineapple sherbet, though I suppose that one could make it if they really put their mind to it.
| OK. Does that mean you enjoyed it or not? Or was it. "Good but could of been better?" Quote: |
I was really in the mood for something pineappley. I prefer orange or lime I think.
|
I like lime.
I recently tried starfruit. [/shares] Quote: |
Are you an ice cream or sherbet person?
| Sherbert person. You?
I love homemade vanilla icecream though. I once made this Lavender vanilla icecream. It was great. It was pretty looking too. |

| RYAN: *whisper* Ian doesn't know any foreign languages. I think he was making stuff up, but one can never tell with that boy.
ROSEBUD: Happy, fat and dumb, huh? We are not quite so parallel with that rabbit universe then. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE PICTURES OF THEM. I'm sure you are a proud mama.
SALAMANDA: Hmmm...so what can we learn about ourselves from the Devil Van? I will make sure to do stretches before the L Christmas so I can work some sprinkler magic. Yes, I'm getting Dylan a gift. Uhhhhhh...I don't know what yet. But thanks for reminding me. I would really like to know how delayed he is because I considered some of those chunky toddler type puzzles, but would that be horrible?
EXPLAINS: We are having Christmas with my Dad's side of the family in two weeks. Don't ask me why. Can't we just let Christmas go, people? But it will be fun. Ish. Funnish. AND we have a new baby in the family that has a syndrome and I can't remember the name of it. Gah. So maybe just a cute outfit? Hmm.
ADRI: Good to see you again, girl! Lime is most excellent. So is homemade vanilla ice cream. We have a family recipe that pwns the world. Lavender ice cream!! Wow, Miss Fancy Pants. That sounds absolutely lovely. How exactly did you infuse your ice cream with the lavender? Did you steep it in cream or something? Or were there just little pieces of it in the ice cream? Was it purple? Because THAT would be amazing.
ANDREW: Apparently your plan that I loved failed miserably.

I...have finally decided...how to paint my living room. Ohmystars. None of you have any idea how this has vexed me. None whatsoever. This is a moment of triumph and that paint isn't even purchased yet. I will post a Decorating Update with details when I have more time. I know, I know. Cliffhanger...

| Is this pwned recipe available for others to partake in using? Quote: |
Lavender ice cream!! Wow, Miss Fancy Pants.
| Lavender is so pretty. Quote: |
That sounds absolutely lovely.
| It is. I thought, since Lavender is such a powerful aroma, It might be a bit too much. Quote: |
How exactly did you infuse your ice cream with the lavender?
| If you have ever grown lavender, you may notice if you dry them that the seeds will come out leaving tiny petals of a beautiful colour. The petals fall out as well.
The heads can be used to crush up and grind very finely. (They are very much purple still.)
I had some of this mixture put in with the cream. Quote: |
Was it purple? Because THAT would be amazing
| It was not a dark purple, but a very light colour of purple. The colour of a light type of purple clematis. A slightly darker colour would of been uber cool.
Lavender comes in many colours. Mine was a dark, dark purple. Quote: |
Did you steep it in cream or something?
| Yes. Quote: |
Or were there just little pieces of it in the ice cream?
| I put the tiny petals in. It looked very pretty. The petals are mild flavoured, SO it ended working swell. |

| Salamanda: You had seriously better not run away. RED ROVER, RED ROVER, SEND SALAMANDA RIGHT OVER!
Andrew: Please stay far, far away from the fryers when you nap, okay?
It is Tuesday. *wonders about new McDadJob*
June: Yes, we call this Infinity, not Epiphany. I hope Mom puts up the tree or it won't even feel like Christmas. *stare*
Adri: I would like to eat purple ice cream one day. We can share our family recipe, but only if you contribute thousands of dollars to the CGR Union Fund. Because we can't have a REunion until we first have a union.
Small: Andrew is not the boss of you. *wink* [/helpful]

Mr. D has an employee that gives money to "prophets", but hasn't saved any money to go see his young daughter in Germany. *stare* Makes.me.twitch.
Mrs. O and I had a fantabulous conversation last night. Here is a summary.
What do you do with relationships that you are "required" to be in, but that bleed you dry and leave you feeling defeated? God is The Win when it comes to outsourcing. Do we need to rely on Him? Ohyes. And I know that we can find intimate, personal comfort from Him. But He also uses flesh and blood human beings to be His hands and feet. To comfort us, encourage us, cry with us, laugh with us, challenge us, affirm us.
Jonathan was not David's "real" brother, but he was his "true" brother. Ruth was not Naomi's "real" daughter, but she was a "true" daughter. My eyes need to be trained to see God's faithfulness and provision from any angle and through any person. He knows what my heart needs and He wants to supply it. Far be it from me to refuse it because it doesn't fit in with my neat and tidy ideal. And it may be just the relationship I need to keep my heart tender toward the ones I love but who don't love me back the way I need.
Mmhmm. Good conversation.
Leo, Ian and I are going to play Yahtzee for math today.
Question for the older homeschooled kids/parents: What math curriculum are you using for Schmalgebra? I asked Jason and he was no help. Sorry Jason! He will not ever be marrying math. Mara won't either, but I would at least like for them to have an amicable understanding with one another.

Not saxon. I went through it, and when I got to college it had seriously handicapped my math knowledge which left me with a lot of on the fly remidial stuff to do while taking precalculus. |
