THANK YOU. I don't think he will. He's a pretty secure guy. *grin*

I am passing the children's church baton. I'm involved in too many other things. Someone else can enjoy that privilege next year.

I'm dredging my memories and recollections to see whether or not I'm fond of such a dish.

At the moment, it's taken up the temporary assignment of bell-ringer, but other than that, I can't think that I know it at all.

My parents did that one year; they did Children's Church, and thereafter, they passed the baton. You are following in a grand tradition of Children's Church Baton Passers.

Eeek. I suppose that is definitely a downside of being self employed.

I can't warm up to Rachael Ray either. I don't get to watch the Food Network much these days, and I kind of miss AB. That would be Alton Brown, lest anyone be confused.

Hello Mrs.D!
How is the weather in IA? I am in Kentucky. Tell us the results of the delightful airsoft war that you will be having tomorrow night please. Remember that I will be with you in spirit *peaceful smile*

If I give you the recipe will you make it for lunch for your family? Then you can tell me if you like it. Even though there are a myriad of ways to prepare it.

Just curious, how much spice can you handle and still enjoy, Small?

Actually, it's probably even worse than that. But...CHIN UP. Because that's how we do things at 105 Sycamore. *cue 1950s melodramatic music*

It appears so! If all goes as planned, I will teach twice more. We only have it once a month.

Honestly, I would prefer to have the children with us all the time. I like the Children's Sermon arrangement a bit better. And I can't imagine once a month would be too much trouble. I am going to suggest it.

HA. No. I'll get right on that.

It certainly is a downside. There is always the dilemma of knowing how far to pursue something or when it's appropriate to let it go and know that God is in control and that His plan is always a good one. Even when you don't get the thousands of dollars you are owed in labor, which then means you can't pay for things. *laugh*

I have stayed before, but the class is long enough to either go home or run errands.

I am glad to know it isn't just me.

I watched Iron Chef: America last night. It's so much better than the regular Iron Chef. Their food was too freaked out. Anyway, AB is a commentator for that show. I love him.

Quote:

No, we aren't. Our resources limit us and so we don't do fancy holiday productions. Now that we have a building, there seems to be more interest in
that type of thing. What about your church?

You should be back by now. How was Nashvull?

The airsoft war was certainly delightful. I'm not sure the size of the crowd. Maybe 15 or so? Mara and Gabe climbed a tree in the dark, Brian and Daniel played on the teeter-totter and Ian kicked some high school booty with his Master Jedi skillz. It was a pleasant evening.

What does this entail? I am sure you're doing a fine job.

Sometimes 'willing' is the only thing that matters when a job needs to be done. Then wisdom lets you know when it's time to pass the baton. *grin*

I am going to assume that you mean to really ask the question. I feel funny because I slept on the couch three times since yesterday afternoon. This never happens. I took a nap, I fell asleep watching the Food Network and I woke up too early this morning and eventually fell asleep on the couch. So my body needs to get stretched out or something. That covers the physical aspect.

I have been practicing the discipline of solitude and I am frustrated with my brain's inability to shut down when I am perfectly still and when my surroundings are as perfectly silent as they can get. I understand why it's called a discipline. I think I'm addicted to noise. So this is a very necessary discipline for me. *smile*

~*~
We are having lovely spring weather.

The garage is almost completely cleaned and organized. We are messy people. I need to just accept this and know that will mean 'cleaning events' at regular intervals.

There is a Burger King bobble-head staring at me. I am going to throw it away.

Mancat is less of a man than he once was. *cough*

We had SO much melting snow and rain from thunderstorms that it's seeping into our basement in one corner. That means removing patio stones and building up the dirt underneath so it slants away from the house. We also need to redo the concrete slab entrance to the back of the garage because it has sunk.

The salt ate some of our very old front sidewalk. We will be doing quite a bit of concrete work this summer so that may mean holding off on landscaping.

I am going to be baking a birthday cake for our pastor's wife. It is her birthday on Friday and we will be having a women's fellowship gathering that evening. I think I'm going to try decorating it with all my fancy little frosting tips. It will be OK if it turns out funky.

Mara and the bassist from TFP will be playing an acoustic set at a coffee shop in Ames on Saturday night. I am excited to hear them.

Today, I am going to clean our bedroom. It's frightening what you find when the sun comes out for spring. *wink*

Have a great day, everyone! *love*

Have you ever read the biography of Brother Andrew? I did as a kid and this reminds me of his VW Bug he smuggled Bibles in.

He took it in to a mechanic (it was running) who was baffled by it as there was no way it could be running.

I will chalk that up to divine intervention. I know God has let me use decrepit things that have no way to work for ministry one last time a few times.

So as goofy as it might sound aloud, I will pray. Though I am going to substitute fix for heal.

I will pray for your truck. I prayed for my friend's car earlier. They are not silly things to pray for.

I read his biography long, long ago. Mr. D doesn't smuggle Bibles in his truck yet, but it does get him to the jobs that give us dollars for food and toilet paper.

That's what I meant. 'Fix', not heal. Thank you for seeing through my lack of appropriate words. And thank you for praying. Really. *smile*

I KNOW. God gave me eggs one time. Nothing is too small.

If the children will gather 'round, I will tell the egg story. Or maybe I have told it already. [/Dory]
