Yep. It's scheduled to ship out Monday morning. They are based in Ohio, so it all should be here soon!

Yes, the black pickguard won this time.

Estimated date of completion (minus the pickguard): Sunday, April 30.

All the parts should get here this Wednesday or Thursday, but I'm going out of town for a week on Thursday. Then, I have an all day function I must attend that Saturday. So, everything will be put together with a new cardboard pickguard on April 30. Hopefully I can get the real pickguard on the week after that.

You had, liek, better post sound clips when you're done. And you also need to let me know how that '59 is working out for you.

Yeah, yeah... I just lost a bid on a set of JB & Pearly Gates humbuckers. They both went as a set for $96. That's about 50% off.

But there are 3 JB's ending on eBay today, so I'm sure I'll catch one. As soon as I get all this stuff in, the soundclips will be here...

If I only had my amp by now...

Last time I heard from him, he was still looking for a box. In the mean time I've offered to buy him the darn box and send it to him.

Now I'm almost beginning to think he doesn't want to go through with the deal or is in the process of scamming me (unlikely). I'll give him another week or two, and if I don't hear from him I will continue my search.

If I can find a Legacy in the $400 range, it's MINE.

oooh, a legacy...
if i had the skill to use that amp well, i'd REALLY want one.
even with the V3, i think it's still safe to say that the legacy is Carvin's best amp.
oh, and i've seen a combo go for a little more that $400 on ebay once.

Yeah, was it the one with the green grill? I'm now extremely mad at myself for not going for it. :hittingbrickwallsmiliethaticantfind:

I'd also take a V3. But that thing would take so long to get used to - All the knobs and stuff. Or, if I can find an MTS. We'll see what the 'bay has to offer.

I might of missed something in the thread, but I was wondering what you did with the neck cavity and why. At first I thought you just sanded the finish off but then when I looked at it again it looks like you might have taken a router to it.

I had to route the pickup cavity to accomedate the new humbucker. I had to take the neck off to route the pickup cavity, so I took a pic of the neck cavity. But I did not to any work to the neck cavity.

So I got impatient and put it ALL back together with the parts I had... So now I have a Duncan '59 in the bridge and 2 no-name single coils..

About the Duncan:

WOW!

This thing sings! Picks up harmonics very nicely, and also has a warm, fat tone for a bridge humbucker.
