Using the news to witness

Has anyone ever mailed tracts to people they have seen on the news??? For example when watching local news do you ever pray for thoses in stories How about writing their names down and looking them up in the phone book and sending them a tract?? What are your thoughts??? God bless.

that sounds a wee bit creepy and very impersonal. its like you making the news for swimming and getting a hockey scholar ship. no offense, just how i see it.

I sent a tract to someone I didn't know yesterday. It said something like, "Do you know what will happen to you if the Vice President should invite you on a quail hunting trip?" Repent and believe!!!

I don't know who I sent it to, but I bet it will change their life.

I hate tracts with a passion.
They are so cheesey... and I think they affirm people's Christian-stereotypes.

A little weird, dude. Praying for those individuals is a good idea that often gets overlooked, but sending them tracts or calling them might send the wrong message--think stalker.

That said, my wife's grandmother prays every day that Jerry Lee Lewis will get saved because they're from the same area.

I don't think tracts are all bad (unless you're talking the Jack Chick type). I know some one who came back to God because of a tract he found on a bathroom floor. But that was a bathroom floor, not a stranger via the mail.

I'm not saying that sending strangers tracts won't ever do any good, but because people seem to highly value privacy I think it might end up doing more harm than good.
