Stingy LEMs

Last Sunday, I attended the Episcopal church that some of my friends are currently attending (more Catholic than Anglo ). When I went forward to take communion, the LEM gave me one drop of wine; as I had already placed the wafer on my tongue, I wasn't even sure that I had gotten any until I chewed. My experience in the past has been a priest who nearly drowned me in the chalice.

Is the stingy LEM a common experience? Even among small congregations?

In my experience of a whole one Episcopal church (which is fairly small; 75-ish), the LEM gives us the chalice.
