does "who" and "hoo" rhyme?

yes....and you make the same sound and inflections when you say both of those words. They just mean different things because that's our language.

end of story. Fret wins.

Actually yes. Yes you're right. I take back my vote, and vote "yes".

Hmm... still 5 to 7 though (including the change in vote by FUR).

Court is still in session.

well if geometry is any parallel (haha pardon the pun) then congruency and similarity can serve to illustrate this problem. If two polygons are congruent (exactly the same) they are also similar (share the same angles and have proportional sides). following the analogy, then two words that are exactly the same would also rhyme. i vote yes.

Now you need three.

Who and hoo are homophones. Hoo is the same word as hoo.

Who rhymes with hoo, but repeating the same words to rhyme is cheap. Sometimes it's cool, but it can be used too often.

I mean, many bands sometimes repeat a line a few times for a refrain. That's ok, the whole song doesn't do it. Then it's bloody annoying.

Overall, I simply voted no simply to discourage using the repetition of the same word as an artistic crutch. It's going to happen from time to time, I just don't want bands to come out thinking they can have a song that just repeats a line a few times, repeats a different line a few times, and so on, and go "Yeah, this rhymes!".

I understand the artistic point of it...but that's not what we're talking about.

You should vote yes because technically they rhyme.
