| SPOILERS!!!!! ******SPOILERS******
I LOVED this movie. I just have to say that the the first "death" didn't bother me, because I never liked Scott/Cyclops, the Second one I was upset, only because I LOVE Professor X, and the third, while I loved Jean, I understood why she had to die, so it was more bittersweet than anything. That ending clip after the credits, is just crazy. I laughed out loud. People looked at me weird, only 4 people stayed to watch after the credits, EVEN after I told them there was a clip at the end. They didn't care. Their loss I guess. Most of my friends told me it was stupid, but I actually ended up liking it. I however didn't like how the phoenix ended up looking. She was just ugly. As Jean she's beautiful. The only dissapointing thing was no nightcrawler. I loved him in X2. Oh well, I did like most of the new characters. I did like Archangel, too bad this is the last official "Xmen" movie, it would've been nice to see him develop further. And I thought Bobby was a jerk in this movie. I'm glad Rogue stood up for herself, and kitty that homewrecker (jk). Overall this movie was fantastic in my opinion. There were a lot of parts I found very funny, I laughed at a lot of different scenes. Some good jokes and setups I thought. I would recommend this movie wholeheartedly. |

Xavier, Cyclops (10 minutes in to the film), and Jean all dying, and Magneto, Mystique, and Rogue all losing their powers. You expect the petty characters to die or the unimportant ones, but these were all major characters, and perhaps the only more major character besides these was Wolverine.
But like I said before, it wasn't without problems, and I can definitly see what JerryLove is saying. But it entertained me, so I liked it. | *SPOILERS*
Magneto didn't lose his powers. At the very end, he started to move the metal chess piece with his mind. |

Ugh...the more I think about this movie, the less I like it. Kelsey Grammar put together a strong performance as Beast, but the movie as a whole left me cold. As JerryLove said, it was missing a single strong storyline. I would have much preferred it if they had followed the tack of previous movies in showing more of Rogue and (somewhat) centering it around her and her emotional struggle in accepting "the cure." Instead they jumped around everywhere, never staying in one place long enough for it to have an impact, or spending too much time in one uninteresting place.
This movie didn't have guts doing what it did. It's a cop-out to use the death of a popular character to get an emotional response, especially when the deaths were so meaningless (not to mention largely temporary). Writers do it in the comic books as well and they get ridiculed and lambasted. Killing off a character is not the way to have an emotional impact. |

| I thought Storm had far too big a part in it as well. I'm not particularly familar with the comics or cartoon, but from what I remember of both, she was one of the lamest characters. Halle Berry's performance wasn't great. |

| Halle Berry continually disappointed me in the role of Storm. When she argued for a bigger role and more money for X3, they should have just dropped her and used the money on makeup for Nightcrawler. |

| As others here have pointed out, the next "X-Men" movies will be prequels.
Hugh Jackman is making a Wolverine movie and Ian Mckellan is making a magneto movie.
Jackman hasn't released any plot details about his film but it makes sense that it would cover his past with the weapon X program.
The magneto movie plot revolves around Magneto getting back at the Nazis and meeting Charles Xavier for the first time.
Now, obviously Magneto was much younger then. And obviously Ian Mckellan is an old man. However, the scene in which a 20 year younger Xavier and Eric met with a young Jean Grey was shot using a new CGI effect (instead of make-up) to make characters look younger.
Apparently they will use this effect on Mckellan for the entire Magneto film. If it's successful, that's a pretty big break-through for the film world.
My major concern, however, is that Brett Ratner will direct either of these films. I don't want that to happen. Wolverine could be so awesome if they get a competent director to do it. |
