The Family Stone

I was pleasantly suprised by this one. I went in not really expecting anything great, but it was actually pretty dang good (for a romantic comedy, at least). It hit all of the bases of the romantic comedy genre without being too cliche. The humor was good and for the most part tasteful. Plus, Rachel McAdams and Claire Danes are undeniably hot.

The only thing I really disliked about it was that it came off as very pro-gay.

Haha, I loved this movie. My girlfriend went to see it, knowing nothing about it. I made the mistake of saying "Man, I had the hugest crush on Sarah Jessica Parker last year" without knowing she was in the movie, right before we saw it. She was giving me crap the whole time.

But yeah, it was a really great movie, and I was almost moved to tears, and she was crying like a baby.

In The Notebook, certainly.

I've seen the trailer for this and each time, I think "of all movies to rip off, why Meet The Parents. I may see it if it's good though. I might take a trip to the movies tomorrow.

I saw this movie a couple days after Christmas with some friends. Parts of it were verrrrrry predictable (but then again what movie doesn't have predictable parts?) but overall we enjoyed it. It DID come off very pro-gay, but fortunately that wasn't the whole movie. I liked the characters a lot, and was glad to see Rachel McAdams.

Actually, the movie itself isn't much like "Meet the Parents." The basic premise is the same, but the tone of the humor is completely different, and it is a bit more serious.
