I think he's a great singer, gonna try and check out his new CD, but this thread doesn't belong in the Christian music section. Creed said they weren't a christian band while they were around, and having read several interviews with Scott Stapp, I'm 99% sure he's not a Christian. I might be wrong, but we need more proof leaning towards him being a Christian before this thread should be allowed anywhere besides the Secular Music forum.

In this interview, he says Creed wasn't a Christian band, but that he was a Christian while he was in Creed;

Heya,

I think he's a very boring vocalist. Even more boring as a songwriter. He really is helarious though. Take a look at his solo album's cover art. Everytime I look at it I burst out laughing.

"The Great Divide" would be an excellent Christian rock album... if it was being done by someone whose vocals don't irritate me.

Anybody who sucks as much as he does but still takes himself seriously is worthy of being considered "hilarious".

I don't see what's so hilarious. Yeah, it's not great, but it isn't horrible or hilarious. And Scott Stapp is a great vocalist.

Scott Stapp's voice is cool. I think that it is very unique. The new album is good too. Musically it is not as good as Creed, but the lyrics are good. Also, he is now definitely a Christian. I don't have any actual refernence, but i have read in an article in a Christian music magazine that he has committed to be a Christian.

Yeah, Scott Stapp's voice was unique when Eddie Vedder was around.

Yeah I agree, not as good as Creed, but still sweet here's his myspace page it has the songs "The Great Divide" and "Surround me" and I've heard some of stuff and "The Great Divide" is awesome.

It isn't really that unique thanks to all the singers that set out trying to sound like him. I do tend to like his voice though. It fits the style of music Creed/his new band played/plays very well, I think. Although I think I like Myles Kennedy's(Alter Bridge) vocals better.

Scott Stapp is a great vocalist? Yeah, compared to me. Oh wait... I can't sing.

To say Scott Stapps voice is unique, one would to have lived in a cave.

I wouldn't say Myles Kennedy's voice is any better, but I think the members of Creed (in Alter Bridge) and Scott Stapp are all still doing great and putting out awesome music even after they've broken up
