| hmmm... how about a scrapbook? may sound gay, but any girl would love that, and it would show you care because you put time and effort into it.
And, from what I hear, they are fun to do. My girlfriend made me one for Christmas, ands I have to say, i really think it is the best gift i have ever gotten. Ya know, seeing how much time that other person puts into really is something else!

LOL..that's what I'm gonna start doing.
Here's my deal. You know her better than us. If it's truly from your heart, then there will be no disappointment...

| Sometimes a bunch of flowers and some sweet words can come very close already.
Like said, if the gift is from your heart, and it shows that one way or another. It will be a good gift.
Gifts that somehow show you thought about it (not just grabbed a piece of chocolate from the local shop) and or put effort in them are mostly good gifts.
(For instance: if you come running with a box of chocolates right from the shop, hiding the receipt, that would probably look stupid. But when you nicely wrap that box, give it a ribbon and a card with saying: "hey, I love you." That would be a lot better.)
Good luck.

One special thing my boyfriend got me for my birthday (the day before V day) was a pretty silver heart box with nice words engraved on the top. I loved it. For Valentine's day last year I got one of those squishy pillows, you know those awesome ones that ya could just play with all day? haha just think about her and what she likes. You'll be fine.

Way to go!
Perfume, chocolate, flowers... Those are all very nice, but if you want unconventional, then go for something like taking her on a date to a playground* or an arcade or something silly like that. Or, you could do her dishes or vacuum her room for her. (But if you're going to give her something 'free', you should also get her flowers or something to go with it.) Or you could get her something that the two of you could do together like a board or card game you both like.
Just suggestions. I guess it depends on how unconventional this girl really is. When it comes down to it, I think most girls like getting the conventional flowers and chocolate on Valentine's day.
*ooh, I just thought of this... If you take her to a playground, then you should totally bring sidewalk chalk. Ooh, or you could plan ahead and already have the sidewalk chalk there and have already written something like "Johnny loves Suzie" (except your names, of course) so she's all surprised and flattered at the same time. Gosh, I hope my boyfriend reads this...

I would hope that for you too, however, since he had to get it from you...

Bowstaff981, is there anything your girlfriend wanted for Christmas that she didn't get? What are her interests and hobbies? Go with what you know about her and find something she would like but not necessarily expect. Examples: if she plays guitar get her a box of (heart-shaped?) picks, or a tuner, or strings. If she plays soccer you could get her a new ball, or find a keychain with a soccer ball on it. I got my boyfriend this for Christmas, knowing full well Art loves ninjas.
Now, if you were intending something specifically "romantic" on the other hand... hmm. Can you cook at all? Or at least try to by following the directions? Because I don't think there is a single girl out there who doesn't appreciate her man cooking for her.

| ok...
do this:
go out and buy 11 red roses(not a dozen, just 11) and a silk/fake one..
write a note and put it with it saying, i will love you until all of these roses die!
it's the most amazing thing that any guy could do for a girl.. now if only i could get someone to do that for me... haha...
just a suggestion... i think it's conventional with the flowers, but the thought is more unconventional than anything! |
