The Valley of Trouble is a Door of Hope

Hosea 2:14-16
"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope. There she will sing as in the days of her youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt. In that day," declaers the Lord, "you will call me 'my husband'; you will no longer call me 'my master.'"

Even in the midst of our sin, God desires to draw us into a place where He can bless us. He wants to bring us to a place that He can give us what we've longed for. He is a lover, and He speaks tenderly to us.

The Valley of Achor is a place of death. It's the place in Joshua 7 where Achan, a sinner, was stoned and him, his family, and his posessions were burned and covered with rocks. That is the Valley of Achor. "Achor" means "trouble." We all have places in our lives that we go that are troublesome. But God promises that even in the midst of that, He will lead us out. He will make that Valley of Trouble, the Valley of Death, a door of hope for us.

God is madly in love with his bride.
