I celebrate as an acheivement, like mile markers along a road. The 666 thread is dedicated to that. We also post 999's and 1000's .

Ok... I slept at 8 and got up at 3... again. I will study soon.

Why are you the only one posting in my blog? I need to invite people, because maybe no one realizes there's a new link in my sig. J

ust to let you know, OzMan, the clip in the first post is your type of music !

I don't have any problem with the achievement part, just that of celebrating a Book of Revelations really bad number.

How about a link to your blog in your Sig. Maybe people don't realise you have a blog, and invite them to visit.

Oh, right! I do remember seeing that when I read through your blog, but forgot to go back and click on it. I don't recognise the piece, nor could figure who the composer may be. (Even thought it's nice, we love harmony, so a single string instrument like that wouldn't get into our top 100. *smile*)

I do have a link in my sig....

Hmm.

Maybe people just mistake it for 'Click to read about Jars of Clay concert' or they mouse over the figs and look at the link and go like, 'Uhh, what's that?' Then they don't dare to click on it...

So, I'll make it clearer.

OzMan ...I put the title of it and who composed it right above it.

It does have harmony, dude! Every single piece of music has a harmony (maybe an exception of a little modern music). You just have to think of Bach a different way: chords. It's all chords.
GDBABDBD GDBABDBD
GECBCECE GECBCECE
GF#CBCF#CF# GF#CBCF#CF#
GGBABGBG GGBABGBF#
The first line...has the pedal tone (bass) G.
The harmony goes
B C C B
D E F# G

Now take this:
GF#B EDG AB C
Can you see? There is no harmony in there.
That's from 'The Swan'.
But see how the piano part adds to this:
BDBGBDBGBDBG BDBGBDBGBDBG CECACECACECA CECACECACECA
G Maj...................................A min....................................
Chords. And harmony again.
So in Romantic music, they just left the harmony to the other instruments.

In the Bach cello suite, there are mainly chords.

Well, in the other part of the Prelude, there's an exception, right?
D...ABCDEF#G AF#DEF#GAB CAF#GABCD Eb

I don't think there's any harmony to that. It's invisible then.

You tellin' me to arrange a version with harmony, then? Hahaha.

Goodness, I'm not doing very well, am I!!! Thanks for all the trouble you went to. Yeah, I did miss the composer *sigh*.

As to 'harmony' what I was simply trying to express is that Nettie and I prefer multiple instruments rather than a single. Similar for human voices - quartet, choir better than solo.

In line with this, I love chords (and chords resolving to the next) - like C7, even C Maj7, C+4 is quite wonderful, love it when a Minor piece ends with a Major chord, and so on.

I think I'd still like to see your blog 'advertising' to be clearer. "RAGE against the Dying of the Light" is clear, and I feel that "Please visit my Blog" or something like that would be good. *trying to help*

It's funny when that happens when you sight read something.

Nah, that'll be too persuasive.

*Sigh* I'm trying to do something cool with the text. It's hard to figure it out.

I don't feel that, simply being clear. Obscure/not clear, people just don't see. IMO! You want people to come, you have to make it easy for them to. Then they'll come if they want to, and won't if they don't. Pretty simple *still trying to help!*

But now it's in flashy letters

What's IMO?...

Hi everyone.

I have a 4 days weekend.

The finals weren't too bad after all!

English: was pretty good.
Orchestra: was frikkin' easy.
Math: was the worst of all. I didn't have time to finish all of the problems. Neither did anyone else. Well, maybe some of the geniuses got it.
Film studies: was frikkin' easy.
Science: was bombed. 2nd highest in class.
Spanish: was worse than I expected. 93.
Government: was not too bad.

Science and Spanish were the only classes that I got results from. Waiting for Tuesday...

Hey, Fret. Sorry I haven't been posting in here much. Life's been fairly hectic recently, and I've barely had the chance to keep my own blog alive, let alone trying to post in other people's. Again, I apologize sincerely.

So...do you honestly consider second in your class and a 93% grade bad, or were you just joking?

'Was bombed' means 'great'. For Science.

93 on the Spanish was worse than I expected...wait *calculates* I got 50/54, then. That's what I expected! But it's a 93, which wasn't what I expected. I guess I still get an A.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an A perfectionist (for this year) and I can take a B on Math and Gov...

Uh, what have you been caught up with recently?

I paid attention in church today!!!!

The sermon was pretty good. It was new stuff to learn. And it's kinda complicated, so I'll sum it up:

After the Philistines had a battle against Saul, some Amalekite (a group of people despised by a lot of people in Israel) came to David (he also found out that his hometown was slaughtered by him) and told him that Saul and Jonathan and all the Israelites lost and were dead.
He said that when he came to the battle site, Saul was leaning on his sword but not dead yet.
Saul asked the Amalekite to kill him because he couldn't take the pain anymore. So the guy willingly killed him and took his crown and Jonathan's bracelet. He was a theiving kind of guy.
Well, the Amalekite really couldn't do anything with the crown and bracelet. He couldn't sell it. So he presented it to David.
But he didn't get the praise he expected. David tore his clothes and wept and all his buddies wept. He said, "Why were you not afraid to lift your hand to destroy the Lord's anointed?" Then David ordered execution and the Amalekite died.
David respected Saul even though Saul kept hunting him down, so that's cool. That's the way to go .
So, you might say that the Amalekite was helping Saul and relieving some of his pain, but it's against God's law. You have to help others live, not help others die. He just wasn't thoughtful .

And that's about it.

No really interesting songs.

Go away, it's neither October 31 nor Halloween! And don't come screaming, "Trick or Treat!!!!!!!" 'cause I don't have no 'trick' or 'or' or 'treat'. Better run as fast as you can. Pink attracts the ghosts!...I mean, hi ! I don't know what it's like to subscribe to a thread. I've never done so before.

I actually saw that post before I came in here. I've been keeping tabs on the Mod Request Forum recently. Good luck getting a ref. I think you'd make a good mod. *nods*
