For pages 2 and 3, I'm going to make multiple posts and edit them later to attach pictures, music clips, video clips, and such.
So for example, when I've got a song done, I'll make a note in the most recent post to go to page 2 or 3 or provide a link to listen to it.

This is done so that my attachments wouldn't get lost in the depths of my blog and also so that they will be put in a neat archive.

I wonder which guitarists can read notes...

"You can't even read notes!" - My cousin's mom
"But I can still play!" - My cousin

You can get on with the hard verses. Go ahead...
I don't believe that XBrokenXHeartX is anything to do with Butterfly16. Butterfly 16 is the gal I was talking about, who I pray for and post to (and yeah I know I posted to XBrokenXHeartX as well, I spose cos I hurt when I find others who are hurting that bad).

Seeing you asked, Fret, there are another two tough/hard/challenging verses in that Hebrews passage. So many Western Christians want/love "the good life". Many even claim the Bible promises riches and everything in the garden being lovely. Not true. I've already mentioned God's chastisment (correction and discipline) promised for true Christians in Hebrews 12:6. Here are the next two verses:

Hebrews 12

7 If you submit to and endure
discipline and chastening, God
is dealing with you as with sons; for
what son is there who the father
doesn't correct and discipline?

8 But if you are without discipline
and chastisement, which we all share,
then you are bastards, and not sons
at all
.

That's pretty heavy - and really straight to the point. Either be living such an earnest and what we Auzzies call "fair dinkum" Christian life where you're experiencing hardships, or else you need to get real, real, real worried that you don't belong to the Lord at all! This is NOT my idea or interpretation. It's clearly there in the Word of God for all to read and understand.

So here, along with many other verses in the New Testament, we are told to EXPECT hardship and trials and tribulations and persecution in the Christian life! These things are NOT enjoyable as Heb 12:11a says, but they DO make us stronger, and they DO help us to grow towards maturity as Christian men and women.

To "balance" these hardships though, we have incredible and wonderful promises of ABUNDANT LIFE and FULL FREEDOM, and the Fruit of the Spirit which is available to us all, including deep-down LOVE and PEACE and JOY (which is far better than 'happiness' which can be lost in a minute with a simple change in our circumstances), and much, much more.

I find it really sad when I see people ignoring the 'hard' passages and truths in the Word of God. But then they usually don't have much of the good spiritual things I've just mentioned either, and that is to their great and eternal loss. (End of 'Sermon'!)

Blessings!

~ Lindsay

Yay, sermon.
Nice revision of this sort of thing .
It's like parenting.
Thank you for making this effort. And yay for posting in so many other blogs.

I thought we were talking about XBrokenXHeartX all along...

I went to chuch today. Did I practice one of my resolutions? Well, not really . I just thought I knew the stuff taught already, so I didn't pay much attention. But I got a nice song reminder:

"I'll bring You more than a song for a song in itself is not what You have required. You search much deeper within through the way things appear. You're looking into my heart. I'm coming back to the heart of worship and it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus. I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it when it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus." - Michael Smith

Anyone else can reserve a few spaces in the first 6 pages or so for attachments!

"When Mozart was composing at the end of the eighteenth century, the city of Vienna was so quiet that fire alarms could be given verbally, by a shouting watchman mounted on top of St. Stefan's Cathedral. In twentieth-century society, the noise level is such that it keeps knocking our bodies out of tune and out of their natural rhythms. This ever-increasing assault of sound upon our ears, minds, and bodies adds to the stress load of civilized beings trying to live in a highly complex environment." - Steven Halpern

Ok, I think I'm done with reserving space. Now others can reserve some.

Thank you for your kind words, Fret. I do what I do because of care and love from Jesus. And I do love sharing what I know with others. I did a post in response to one of yours in Sazzy's blog.

Mmmm, great words! Michael J Smith?

Nettie and I are classical music lovers too. But we like early music, Boroque era forward to about Mozart's day I guess, a few past that, but not too many. Don't like most of the Romantics and hate modern classical! We're all different in our likes and dislikes, hey!

Hahaha, I think modern classical is frikkin' awesome!!

The Howard Shore music played by Yo-yo Ma that I just listened to today (modern classical) is really awesome . There was a concerto, an elegy, 3 solo ones, and a somewhat soundtrack sounding one.

Yes, it's Michael J. Smith.
