Oh well. So how ya been lately? How's school been? What kind of job do you want when you grow up? What are some of your favorite bands? Do you like Play-Dough? Do you like fire?

Well, happy blogging
-Jesse
Do you see ~taproot~ on '0-9' ?

But...can't believe you didn't take a peek at my cello recording...I hope you will soon.

Good game on the chess thing .

How've I been? Well, trying to relax after a horrible week at school, which will maybe be more horrible next week during the finals. The standard in this school is pretty high, but maybe it's my fault that I took 4 honors classes. I might add that it could be as stressful as Singaporean school work.
I would like your future job, fur!
Well, actually it's one of those jobs where I would love it but don't have the experience or resources or people around me with that same kind of goal - well, that kind of job makes you sweat a lot. That's what makes it very fun. Instead, I'm going to work in the field of science. What kind of science? I haven't decided.
My favorite bands? Well, I grew up listening to classical music and I've been listening to it all my life. I've only gotten quite interested in rock and pop about a few years ago. Currently, I like J.S. Bach, Dimitri Shostakovich, Frederich Chopin, and snippets of others. I like cello concertos...well, concertos of any other instrument too. I'm interested in modern classical right now. I'll see what 'new' stuff I can get my hands on... Jars of Clay is my favorite band and I can't find a better one . I also like a bit of Switchfoot and TFK... I like my sister a lot. Yes, she is her own band. All types of classical, computer music and distorted computer music...

Interval of 12 hours
------------------------------------------------------------
Man, this is not cool...
5:46 a.m. over here, but I don't need sleep. I just got up from 9 hours of 40 winks. Jetlag? That's a factor. See, I cried to myself to relieve some stress because of finals week and worrying about my sister's marriage and also because I keep falling asleep right before dinner and my mom screams at me... Well, I guess I got so tired that I fell asleep when I didn't want to. The door was locked, the desk lamp and computer were left on, and I failed to bathe .
I have JoC's WWAI playing, the second calmest of the 7 albums... One question for the Windows Media Player users: What visualization do you like best? My first favorite was 'flame' and after that, my fav. for a long time has been 'rolling fire'. Second to it is 'niagara', recently liked.
All right, back on topic!
------------------------------------------------------------
...my sister (the music one, not the one that's getting married) also writes acoustic songs. And that's about it.
Play-dough colors are so fake. I'd prefer a dull gray piece of plasticine...if I knew what to make. *Sigh*, haven't held one in a long time.
Yes, I like fire. I liked those days in Singapore where I would go with my buddies around (deserted) apartments and set a few matchboxes on fire...that was about 7 years ago.

OzMan, you're just rocking the blogs, aren't you? But...was XBrokenXHeartX supposed to post on Butterfly16's blog? Are we talking about XBrokenXHeartX?

You can get on with the hard verses. Go ahead...

For pages 2 and 3, I'm going to make multiple posts and edit them later to attach pictures, music clips, video clips, and such.
So for example, when I've got a song done, I'll make a note in the most recent post to go to page 2 or 3 or provide a link to listen to it.
This is done so that my attachments wouldn't get lost in the depths of my blog and also so that they will be put in a neat archive.

  1. W00t Jars! No offense. I read an interview about them and they said they joke(d) around like that a lot.
  2. When you've got a sucky thread, yeah.
  3. Only 3 people on CGR...
  4. I'm going to use this for my photo take of my 666th post, and anyone else can use it .
  5. Av. that was supposed to be for Sazzy... but I might use it.

"Where words fail, music speaks." -Hans Christian Andersen
1. Indianapolis Museum of Art - Little guys holding me up (First picture of my feet on CGR!!).
2. Indianapolis Museum of Art - In front of a LOVE sculpture (First picture of my whole body on CGR!!! Omigosh!!).
3. This is my messed up rosin, which is a few years old. I won't bother to throw it away, because I like how it looks. It's been scratched, cracked, and melted a bit by the hot sun. I almost looks like a sun-dried tomato. I wrote "light" on the cloth, because, well, it's a light kind of rosin. The olive colored rosins are the dark kinds. Different colors are used for different kinds of weather or different kinds of concert halls you're playing in. But now I don't remember which is for which. And I lost my olive rosin. Actually, I think my friend has it, but we won't meet anytime soon. Let him keep it as a parting gift.
4. Jars of Clay thing for my sig.
5. No wai!! It's ~FreT~'s face! Ya srsly!! I like my shirt. 1 cross, 3 nails, 4 given.

"You should only practice on the days you eat." - Schinichi Suzuki

1. For my sister, Su Fen, on her 27th birthday on August 3rd, 2006. And for readers of this blog to enjoy too. This is a remix of Liquid by Jars of Clay. I used pencil drumsticks on a shower curtain and a pillow, my acoustic guitar with no amp, and my voice. Altogether I mixed 6 tracks into the song using Audacity.
2. Another song for my sister. Remix of Crazy Times, also by Jars of Clay. Altogether 5 tracks.
On a side note, my rhythm is really sloppy and the different parts are not quite a good balance. My voice goes haywire at the end of Liquid, but I actually like my vocal parts in Crazy Times. Still okay. Su Fen likes it. Rainer is so much better at this .
Oh, and there's a little surprise in Crazy Times for Mute Math fans. If you know a certain song by Mute Math, you'd see what I'm talking about.

"Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart." - Shinichi Suzuki

1. Testing - It's a video! Hope this works. Unfortunately, it's not very long because CGR would only allow me to post 2 MB or so. Not very much.

"Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp." - Psalm 149:3

1. "Love Song for a Saviour" by Jars of Clay. This is totally raw except for Audacity's normalization and amplification effects. Just one single track with vocals and guitar at the same time. I wanted to see what I'd sound like if I were to do a one man band. Didn't go to the garage. Just right in my bedroom.

Without music, life would be a mistake.... I would only believe in a God who knew how to dance.- Friedrich Nietzsche

Instead of attaching them in this post...

4. At first I had no intention of naming this but when I analyzed it after I took the picture and rotated it, then it looked like my hair was automatically sticking to my head and keeping itself from falling and when viewed the actual upright way, it looked like I was keeping my other side of my hair from falling with my hand. But the towel in the background can't handle it and it falls. So I'm cool. Ha. I look so sad.
