The worst thing you've eaten

What is the worst food you've ever eaten? I'll accept drinks as well.

Unusually raw meat. (it was a darkened room in a fancy restaurant) needless to say, i got a free meal and permanent 75% discount. I still haven't started using it simply because of, oh i don't know... THEY SERVED ME RAW STEAK!!! Though, i didn't actually eat it. It only touched my lips before i realized that it was raw.

One time I took my parents to a really authentic Chinese (not Americanized Chinese) restaurant here in Austin, and my mom decided to be adventurous and try the Cow Intestine Soup. By this, I do not mean tripe - I mean cow intestine, as in various chunks of entrails floating around in the soup.

I too decided to be adventurous and try a bite. I can't remember the last time I had to spit something out because I just couldn't deal with it. Made me nauseated.

What boggles my mind is that it's likely that there were Chinese people sitting around at that restaurant, eating Cow Intestine Soup and thinking "Mmmmm.... This is just like mom used to make it" and getting all warm and fuzzy.

I ate a box of uncooked macaroni, then dumped the cheese packet into a Sprite and drank that. On a bet. I won $5.

It wasn't worth it. But at a party later, 2 kids tried to do it, and one puked.

At a buffet at a mexican restaurant I once tried fried cactus. It was floating in some kind of red sloppy hot sauce. It had the flavor and texture of a soggy sponge. I only had two bites. The only reason I took a second bite was because I just couldn't believe something could taste that bad.

At my church, we have little contests in the youth group from time to time. I came up with a few interesting ones. I got the kids to dip sardines and anchovies in french onion dip with only thier mouths. One kid just gorged himself on it and even licked the plate. two others tried one then nearly puking, stared at the other contestants. The winner got ten bucks and the 2 and 3 place got some free food at a restaurant. Lol, if they had listened to my instructions they could have one by just dumping thier plate in the garbage. oh well. (i'm another youth member so i'm not some cruel pastor torturing his kids, though i did get his permission...)

The youth group thing reminds me of something we did at the youth group here at my church. It was a game called the Human Limeade Machine. Four volunteers, two bowls of lime halves, lots of packs of sugar, two bowls of water, and two clear plastic cups. Two people are playing against each other, and each has a helper. The contestants sit in a chair while the helper squeezes a lime into their opened mouth, empties a packet of sugar into it, and dumps a little water in. The contestant gets up, jumps up and down to mix everything together, and then spits it into a cup. The first person to fill the cup up to the line wins.

So finally, there was a winner. The youth director held the cup up to show everyone that it was full up to the line, everyone's cheering for the winner, and then the youth director took a big gulp of it. Ugh.
