How do you make this sound?

In Jars of Clay's "Crazy Time" there is a part where the guitar is distorted. Its hard to describe the sound so if u take out the Much Afraid CD, it is 1:52 into Track 4 (Crazy Times). If someone could tell how to make that sound, id appreciate it.

Ok, here's the dillio....I'm not sure what fret, or even what strings he does it on (don't have my g-tar with me ), but here's the basic technique:

e-----10--------|-------------------------
B-----10b12---|--------10--------------
G----------------|--or---10b12---------
D----------------|-------------------------
A----------------|-------------------------
E----------------|-------------------------

What that means is, you strike both strings (e and B) at the 10th fret and you bend the lower string up a whole step (so it sounds like the note at the 12th fret). Or, you strike the B and the G string and bend the G string up a whole note.

I'm not sure what fret he uses, but I'm pretty sure it's on the two high strings.

Does this help? Also, you might check out the tab for it on this site .

God bless
-Aaron

Oh, and lemme know if that's too confusing....

Yah guitarman had the right idea, its an octave bend that is used i think 5 or 6 times. At 1:52 this is the beginning of the crazy times solo, it goes like this:

e------17---------
B------20b22---
G---------------------

If you need an explanation of what an octave bend is or how to play it, or if you want the full tab of the whole solo, feel free to drop me a line at postlambjam@hotmail.com
