The Shining

I'm not big on horror films, but this is one of my favourites of all time. I was thinking about watching it again sometime soon, as I haven't seen it for 5 years. It was the first Kubrick film I ever saw and it is still my favourite (though I've only seen 2 at this point, haha).

Who else likes this movie?

BTW....I didn't have strong feelings about Shining, except the end. I hated the ending.

I prefer the book. I'm not a huge Jack Nicholson fan.

I don't really like Kubrick's version.

the TV movie with the guy from Wings was pretty good....for a TV movie.

Except it's like 9 hours long.

I am a huge Kubrick fan, but he did seem to stretch the ideas in the book to something totally different than what Mr. King had intended. I think I would enjoy it much more if the two hadn't had been associated with one another. Either way, it's a beautifully shot film.

that was HILARIOUS

I loved this movie, Jack Nicholson is great, but I agree about the ending. It made no sense whatsoever.

I got this out yesterday so I could watch it again. I'm sure I'll have a different opinion after I watch it.

I watched it again yesterday. I still love it to death. Maybe I love it more than everyone else because I've not seen any other Kubrick films besides 2001.

Some of the camera shots are too good for words. And there are so many great ones I can't even comment on any single one.

I've never seen the movie, but I did see the hotel where it was filmed this past September. Beautiful place, The Stanley hotel in Estes Park, CO. Here are a few photos.
