Hey Buddy... I have no idea really. But I am going to move this to "Other Hardware"... since it might get more posts there.

I"ve got a Rolland VS 1630 Digital 16 track recorder, with 4 channels of built in effects and a total of 512 virtual tracks available.

I can say that from my heart, I know it's true
Yeah the Best thing I can tell you is God Loves you
And He sent His only son as living Proof

Present my argument, and state my case
But I'd rather tell you of, his wonderous grace

Now I could talk about, theology
Or dabble in some deep, philosophy
but it all comes down to what was done, on Calvary
When Jesus died for you</center>

Good Values for the money:
used Alesis ADAT XTs
used Mackie 1604 VLZ
AKG C2000B mics
Audio Technica AT4033 Mics
Rode NT-1 Mics
Shure SM-57 mics
Shure SM-58 Mics

Get a good recorder, a good mixer, and good mics. And remember that the sound can only be as good as the source signal.

There was a thread I posted a long time ago, well a few months, that was good on this subject.

Search my user name and recording to find it.

Yeah, Cakewalk and some other stuff is ok, but if you got the money go for the hardware.
