*edit* I see that there were two others. I don't feel quite as special anymore.
Well, you were still the first. Now that's special!

Hey, how many other CGR'ers live in Vancouver-ish? Do you think we could organize a citywide gathering?
Hmm. I don't know of any except for Skeeter and OctaviusIII, who are roommates and who I see all the time anyway. There has been talk of another Seattle-ish area gathering, though. Maybe it should be in Vancouver, or better yet, Langley! j/k

I met with Senate today. Well, two of them anyway. They wanted to know what my semester gpa's were, and what my cumulative gpa's were... you know, technical stuff. And they asked why I am appealing. They said they would talk to the other members and get back to me (hopefully tomorrow). If not tomorrow, then Thursday because Wednesday is the crazy Can-Am hockey game!

The good news is that even if they don't approve the appeal and I lose my job, I will still get paid for all the work that I have done up until now. And, the vice president said that they would hire me ad hoc to organize the next big event, which is another talent show (we call them Hootenannies). That makes me very happy, and now I don't really care how they decide since I know I will get to organize the Hootenanny. I have been making plans in my head and writing down all kinds of ideas ever since Dave and I came up with the theme last semester. It's going to be "Spring Fever". The host will be a girl dressed as a bride and the judges will be her bridesmaids and groomsmen. It will be a totall spoof of the whole "ring by spring" syndrome that allegedly plagues university seniors. It'll be great!

Anyway, I'm going to go study at Denny's now.

peace out, yo. keep it real. word.

Aha. You should. Well, actually, you should ask Skeeterdan whether you should or not, because he would know much better than I do. And if he doesn't vomit at the thought, you should.

And Can-Am is TWU's version of Ohio State-Michigan, right? So everything is designed around it.

Wow. And then the student body will force them to reinstate you, and give you a raise. Or, of course, it could be a bust, and you'll have to marry into the University HeadPerson's family to make the students stop spitting at you in the street.

And that would just suck.

I just put on my head phones to keep from hearing my roommate's wheezing nose, but the sound of me picking them up caused her to stir enough to make her stop the loud breathing.

It's been a crazy week. I had an emotional breakdown on Tuesday. It had been building for a few weeks, and was sparked by a phone conversation with one of the Canadian girls' team coaches. Almost anything had the ability to make me cry on Tuesday. Wednesday I was more sane because I was so busy with the game. Thursday was nice and relaxing. I set an alarm, but it didn't do much good. I needed the sleep, though.

The Can Am itself went very well. No injuries or fights, and I couldn't have planned a better score. They played two 25 minute halves with a running clock for all but the last 5 minutes. At the end of the first half, the guys were up 3-2, and at the end of the second half we had a 4-4 tie on our hands, so we went to a five person shoot out. The results: 6-6... The sixth guy scored and then the American goalie made an amazing save. Amazing mostly because he has never played goalie and also because he hadn't really proved that he could make such saves during the game. The girls didn't take very many shots, I guess. Anyway, I'm just glad that people had a good time and that I had so much help and support from people on council and just from random students.

Aaron, a member of the TWUSA Senate, asked to meet with me on Thursday evening to talk about my position. We went for a walk and he told me that they can't grant me an appeal. This really is bittersweet news. I will still get paid for the work I've done so far this semester, but I will most likely only be involved with the other big event in a 'creative' way. So, I might not be in charge, but I can give all the ideas I want, basically. I've told a few of the other council members, but I'm not sure if the two events assistants know yet. They will be the ones running the show from now on, though. I am sad, but I'm also glad that I will have one less (one really bid thing) thing distracting me from my schoolwork. Also, Daniel and I went for a walk the other night and I told him how I had scheduled 2 hours out of every day (Monday-Thursday, anyway) just for homework. He agreed to help me with this as well as helping me try to be in bed by 1:00am on school nights. (My earliest class starts at 11:40am)

So, that's that. I really wanted to keep my job, but the more I think about it, the more I think it's a blessing. I had been praying that Senate would make a wise decision and that it would be for the best. Last semester I kept thinking, "if only I were a student OR on TWUSA, but I just don't have the time for both". I always felt guilty for neglecting one by focusing on the other. Now I can focus on school and finish strong.

Today I went to the mall with Daniel, David, and Sammy. I found my Valentine's Day outfit, and I helped David pick out a semi-casual shirt that he will wear the same day. He won free tickets to the drama department's play, and so he and this girl Elizabeth (who is just his friend, although they flirt shamelessly) will be going on what I suppose is a double date with me and Daniel on Tuesday evening. Should be good times.

Speaking of Valentine's Day, I just mailed a bunch of valentines the other day, so hopefully they will make it to y'all before Tuesday. If not, then I wish you an early "Happy Valentine's Day" rather than a late one.

woah, 1:00am is a crazy time to go to bed. I feel so terrible if I go to bed any time after 11:30.

Rachael, my Friday sucked pretty badly. But it got a whole lot better when I checked my snailmail box. Thank you.

Ironically, I probably will be having a bitter Valentines day. I am Valentine-less again. I have been for as long as I can remember. *sigh*

Rachael, I always seem to run into you at odd hours of the morning. Are you a night owl?

Fast times, apparently. Well, I suppose it's an excuse to pray for stiff upper lips, etc. And the game sounds sweet. I sort of doubt I'll get my Valentine before the day itself, but I suppose we'll see.

Oh, and creative people with no power get their way more often, because then the people in power can pretend they're creative.

Oh, very much so. I'm trying to be less and less of one, but it's hard when the only time I have to hang out with people seems to be late at night. Oh well.

So, doesn't that make you a night owl as well?

Yesterday was glorious!

It started with Aquacise. My class went to the community centre for aqua aerobics, and it was HARD. I had alwasy associated that kind of thing with little, frail, old ladies, but we did the hard version. It was fun, though. And I get to do it again tomorrow.

After Aquacise, I had to shower, so I decided to bath with avacado. I had tried it in my hair before, so I though it should work to moisturize my skin as well. It does. I used half in the shower and the other half in my salad after that. Mmmm.

Then I had another class, which was fun. I love Professor Chutter. He's so wise. And he's one of those profs who always prays before class. Not only that, but he's one of those people who pauses befoe prayer. You know, when some one says, "Let's pray", and then they wait a bit before they start the prayer. I like that. It allows me to focus. It reminds me of how holy God is and how respectfully I should be approaching him.

Anyway, after class, Daniel took me to Venetis Steak House. Sooo good! I had the steak diane, which is filet mignon with mushrooms and wine sauce. So tender and tastey; I loved it!

Daniel bought me chocolates, Mad Libs, a rose plant, and he got me a very fun card. Not to mention dinner and taking me to the play. We saw The Ristretto Proposal here at TWU. It was very funny and enjoyable. My only complaint was with the lighting. It sucked. It was uneven and sometimes the actors' faces weren't even lit.

After that we met up with David, Sammy, Harry, and his girlfriend Christie (who I just met for the first time last night) and we went to Boston Pizza. Daniel and I split a heart-shaped Hawaiian pizza. It was cute.

Oh, and we opened a package my mom had given us. It had lots candy, sparkling cider, some of those word magnets (V-day style), and some tea. The tea was the best part. The label reads "Jasmine Jazz -- Romancer Enhancer" From my mom! So great. It's really good tea, too. I'd like to try it chilled sometime.

Wow. That's almost disturbing.

It sounds as though you had a lovely day. Speaking of which, that was pretty much the best Valentine I've ever gotten, so many thanks for sending it. It was awesome.

w00t! My emo_valentines are a success! You are all very welcome. It was my pleasure, really.

Today we had Aquacise in the deep end of the pool. We wore floaty belts around our waists so as not to sink. It was kinda the same as in the shallow end, except this time when we used the noodles, we stood on them and surfed underwater. Neato.

The avacado only went on my salad today.

I am currently wearing a sleeveless, denim jumpsuit. It's got buttons up the front and a belt around the waist. It's pretty stylin'. I got it to wear to the junior/senior disco tonight, but Dan thinks I could also just wear it to class and other normal places. He thinks it's hott. The disco should be fun, but I am a little worried. It's the first actual dance on campus since they changed the rule this semester. With all these white people who haven't been allowed to dance for years, there's bound to be some bad -- nay, atrocious -- dancing tonight. But that in itself will be fun.
