Not that it would work, but that would be entertaining too.

Not that it would work, but that would be entertaining too. | You're right. It totally wouldn't work. And not just with Dan, but with guys in general. I've learned that dropping hints really doesn't work the way I want it to. Ever.
The good news is that my brother is going to let me take his old Sega Genesis back to school with me. I just have to find it out in the storage unit garage.

| Speaking of things that totally do not work, is it possible to find anything in a garage when you really, really, want to?

I found the Sega and a Playstation yesterday! I might not get to use the Playstation, though, because it's my brother Mike's and his PS2 is broken right now, so he might want to use the old-skool one. It's better than solitaire and minesweeper I guess.

| My mom just told me that I spend too much time on the computer. The thing is, I don't usually spend as much time online as I have the last two days.
The first thing I did this morning was throw a mini temper tantrum. My mom tried to wake me up and it really didn't work. I was having wonderful sleep (finally), and she was trying to ask me questions before I was fully aware of what was going on. I wish I could get people to understand that it's not really me they are talking to if I'm not fully awake.
I saw The Chronicles of Narnia again today. My whole family went (minus my nephew whose too young to sit through anything longer than 1 minute). I was super tired still, and since I'd already seen it, I actually fell asleep near the end. I felt bad. I've never done that before. I did wake up in time to see the bad-ass centaur pulling out both his swords as he's charging in the front lines during the war scene.
After dinner I went to a Christmas party at Baxter's house in Bothel. She lives on a street where every house (except one) goes absolutely crazy-insane with Christmas lights and decorations. We figured the one house with absolutely no lights must be a Jewish or family or something. Anyway, they take cash and food donations for local foodbanks, and my brother said they raise like $25,000 every year. The best (or weirdest) part is that the Baxter's have a manger scene on their roof that has Santa looking over baby Jesus in his manger. hmmm...
There was a gift exchange and I ended up with a little bucket of hershey's kisses -- not bad, but not as cool as the trick pen that shocks you when you click the end of it or the huge blow up palm tree.

I had to look twice at that. Quote: |

| Those blow-up palm trees are amazing.

| I'm currently reading a school book for pleasure. Actually, it's not technically one of my textbooks, it's one my prof recommend that I read because it goes along with one of our textbooks for next semester. Oh, you probably want to know what it is. I'm reading Amusing Oursleves to Death by Neil Postman, and the "textbook" is Technopoly, also by Postman. I'm quite enjoying it, and I am very much looking forward to the class. The title is "Technology and Social Change" and it is only the second time it's ever been offered. Geh, I feel like such a nerd! I am actually getting giddy thinking about it! Like my legs are starting to dance (I guess you can call it that) uncontrollably...
Christmas was nice this year. The best present award goes to my sisters-in-law for buying my brothers a trip to see the Mariners in Spring Training. They get 3 nights and 4 days at a hotel, a rental car, and tickets to three games - one each day. I think the guys are still shock.
I'm realizing more and more just how messed up people are. And by people, I mean Christians. Engaged couples living together, divorce, (attempted) suicide, cliques, sexual harrassment. I've heard recent examples of all of these within the body of believers just this week. Makes me sad and sick at the same time.

| Good grief.
There are many people in my (christian) school who claim to be "christian" and say that they live their life by the bible. These same people make a regular habit of getting absolutely wasted at parties. These same people condemn others for doing things like swearing or watching films like Sin City. |

It's funny. I seem to notice hypocrisy more in others when I am feeling very broken and weak myself.

| I did my "I didn't get everything I wanted for Christmas, so I'm going to buy it for myself" shopping last night. I purchased Freaks and Geeks online. I just hope it gets here before I go back up to Canada. It probably won't, and that's ok, too. I also decided I want to see Judd Apatow's other canceled show, Undeclared. Someone described it as "Freaks and Geeks goes to college". I also bought myself some books I need for school, but I'm sure you don't care about that.
My friend Melody called today to say "Merry Christmas". She is sweet. She and Kendra and I were thinking about getting together in Portland for New Year's. We spent last year together in San Fransisco, and it was hands down the best New Year's of my life so far. Unfortunately, Kendra is back in Mexico and Melody has plans with her high school friends. That's ok, though, because I kind of already made plans myself.
Today I was driving in Bellevue and I saw a guy crossing the street with headphones on. He was singing and playing the blue electric guitar he had strapped on -- just mozying along the crosswalk. It was quite a sight.

| I slept for 15 hours last night. Now I can't get tired enough to sleep. That's messed up.
I am super stoked for the Sleater-Kinney/ Stephen Malkmus show tomorrow night (Thursday). The venue's great, too. Well, I've been there once before to see MxPx, Slick Shoes, and Good Charlotte (well, not so much to see Good Charlotte, they just happened to be playing as well). After the show Dan and I are going to go chill with Andrew... I've got to call him, I guess, to let him know.
That's all really. My life hasn't been too exciting lately. I did lots of laundry and watched 2 hours of LOST today, that's about all. How very sad.

| Fun, I'm seeing Sleater Kinney at the end of January. Looking forward to it very much. I doubt that they could be anything but awesome live, so enjoy them.
PS, sorry about the 'pimp' thing in Secular |

| I'm only 0.134% emo and that's just because I own an old Sunny Day Real Estate CD.
How much more of random introduction could you ask for?

| Lee! Welcome to Rachael's blog. She's not here at the moment, so if you could leave a message after the beep, that'd be great. *beep*
Rachael's been hanging out with my parents and I for the last little while. We've been pretty busy, going out and doing stuff, so she hasn't really been on the intarwebs for a while. |
