| Chappell/Hadlee series Well, the Aussies won it. Congratulations. But the Black Caps didn't suck too much. What a performance at bat the kiwi's put in to chase, and make the 332 runs needed to win, setting a word record for ODI chases. In the end, NZ only lost the trophy by two runs, but it was a good watch as far as cricket is concerned.
Another thing I wanted to bring up was this new aspect of play. The 'Power Play'. So far as I understand, a power play is the restriction of fielders outside the circle for five overs from the over when the captain calls it. There's a compulsory power play at the beginning of the innings for 10 overs (that's been like that for a while now though), and you must take the other two power plays sometime within the rest of the innings. The bowling team is the one who calls the plays. |
