So, who's looking forward to their live CD and DVD?

Wait. There style is unique? How can there style be unique when it's the same song with different lyrics? And, also a note... Weird Al has done the same thing! There is NOTHING unique about it.

How many other bands are there out there taking secular songs and putting Christian lyrics to them?

The idea of giving a secular song Christian lyrics may be new, but the idea of giving a popular song new lyrics is hardly new, innovative or unique. So they're unique only in that no one else is doing EXACTLY what they're doing. But that really don't mean much. If I decided I was going to be unique by writing dirty parodies of Christian songs, I'm sure I would be the only person doing that. That wouldn't make me creative or innovative.

I think Apologetix rocks, i am a fan of some of the original songs that they did parodies on and i love the parodies the music and the vocals are right on to the original.

I have the live DVD and it is definitely worth getting. What I like about them is that John sounds a lot like the original artists and Karl's guitar parts are spot on. I appreciate how closely they come to the original, but with different words. I grew up with many of the older songs and love singing the new words instead of the old secular words. To me, it takes a lot of talent to get a reasonable copy of the originals. That's what makes Wierd Al's parodies so funny and good. ApologetiX does it with Christians in mind - thank you. Honestly, they have a lot of talent and I like them. Hey, they even do rap quite well (BTW, I don't like rap). I also like their ministry and how they present it. Just reading about them and how genuine they appear in their faith is an encouragement to me. I emailed Karl and he was very responsive and kind. I'd like to be able to play like him and cover all the styles they do.

I haven't been watching the band closely, but it looks like they recently lost their main guitarist--Karl. Anyone know what happened to the band?

I went to a concert of theirs about a year ago. Lots of moshing. They did an encore with the parody of "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. I like the vocals on the original much better and think they could have done a better job, but it was fun. I sort of stopped listening to them. Some of their songs I used to like are Lazy Brain, Psum 14, Land of Delusion (they did this one really well...), Smells Like Thirtysomething Spirit, Lifestyles of the Rich and the Nameless, Enter Samson, and Somebody Sold Me. Some I really disliked by them because the originals are too awesome were Downer of a Sister (really, he doesn't have a voice even close to Serj's, and it didn't sound a thing like Chop Suey, and the lyrics were too lame), Boulevard of Both Extremes (Really didn't like the vocals), Miss Martha (AFI is already terrible since they went emo), Corinthians (come on, you can't pull off a good parody of an already morally right LP song!), and Animals I Have Begun (didn't do Three Days Grace and justice whatsoever.)

So, that's my critique. I understand people may disagree or agree, but overall, they are okay. They're pretty cool for people who wanna listen to songs their friends are listening to...but man, do I wish they did some Blink 182 covers. If they have, please point them out to me!
