I got a new(used) camera!

I finally got a fuji S2 of my own. The guy who sold it to me gave me a broken lense to go with it. The camera works great...I opened the lens up to see what I could do. It kind of rattled. I took out the loose broken pieces (2 small peices of plastic), and put things back in order as well as I could tell. That thing works now! (for now at least) so Im pretty happy! New Camera, Free rigged up lense, happy day!

i personally don't like fuji cameras (although their slide film is awesome), but good for you!

Yeah I actually really don't like the S2...though it's color accuracy is amazing. The S3 is pretty sweet though, but like the S2 it's still a little too slow.

so, what about the lens. is it a zoom? what's the focal length and largest/smallest aperture?

The camera does not work at the moment...Im rather bitter about it. I may tell the whole story later, but now Id rather not talk about it...for now, Ill just say that it worked before I recieved it, and it no longer works.

I had a camera that worked before I received it - had a bit of a bug - and in my attempt to fix it............the camera died on the table.

Or should I say, the camera died on the floor -- as I tried to "dislodge" the problem through contact.

since this camera is based on a nikon body, does it take nikon AF lenses?

I'm buying up used lenses when I can, as for the same price, you can get way better glass, if a bit slower on the auto-focus side. Who uses autofocus anyway?

...UPDATE!

The camera now works. (Sorry Redbaron, I think I will be keeping the lenses). It turns out, that the shutter had one piece that was not in the groove that it was supposed to be in. It was forced outside of its track. I simply slid it back into the track, and BAM!!! SUCCESS!!!!

The story I didnt want to get into because im a big dork and was upset.

I work for this photographer. I borrowed one of his cameras and some of his lenses to shoot my churches Upwards Soccer pictures. Well, Basically it was way too windy, and I was way too careless. I was trying to get one boy posed properly, and I hastily walked up to him, not adjusting my camera on the tripod (with a huge 80-200 zoom lens) and a strong gust came through, and *Break* The camera hit the ground. The lense was fine. The camera was also fine, but it busted the body. It needed to be taped back together, but it had been "exposed" to the elements, so the guy I worked for didnt want to use it anymore...But he was in a big money crunch. He had to buy a new camera. Getting the S2 repaired would probably be around 600 dollars in all (you can get one off ebay for around 700). I worked for free for 2 months, with the idea that I would either get the broken camera or get paid back once he got in good shape financailly.

This was back in March. Well, Ive been waiting since then for this camera. I finally got it, and to my dismay it was not working. I had just used it a few months before. BUT... All is now well, and Im a happy camper.

oh, i'm not suggesting that you would want to get rid of the lenses, i'm just wondering if they are interchangeable. FWIW.
