This kind of stuff happens all the time. The Bible handles this too.
Biblically speaking....the Catholic church sides itself at times extrabiblically (as do many sects of Christendom) so if this is true here: they clearly don't speak as for God. They misrepresent. We are taught "test all things according to sound doctrine" and live this way to correctly point to the True God. (1 Tim 4 & 1 John 4 --
all of these 2 chapters speak directly to this "Testing--Living" accordingly)
If by chance justice is not handed down rightly in this specific case...God Himself will bring all things to justification on the Day of Judgment. Justice deferred is not justice denied.
So what's the question...how do they catch the guys who have premarital sex? That's a loaded question. Some people have a said faith...they are not genuine. Some people who make mistakes are genuine and repent. The world sorrows in one way and the people of God another.
If having premarital sex was (all) what they were looking for in this case...which justly it may be so...I believe a thorough cleaning of the facility needs to come from this. If in fact...then it is clearly discrimination to include only those who carry the egg.
2 Corinthians 7:10 (NIV) "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death."
1 Tim 4:15-16 (NIV) 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
1 John 4:5-6 (NIV) 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
Romans 12:19 (NIV) Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
Hebrews 10:30 (NIV) For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The LORD will judge His people.”
We should pray for all involved and stick with this case to see how it unfolds. Thanks JerryLove for bringing this to the table!
