| Rosea Time for me to share my music with the CGR public... http://myspace.com/thirdworldheroesmusic http://www.soundclick.com/thirdworldheroes
The live recordings are with my band, the others are just me recording demos in my house.

| The music is actually not that bad. It needs to be a lot tighter and better performed, but I think it definitely has potential. The drums especially need work, they're just all over the place meter wise. The transitions need a lot of work too, almost all of them are really loose, and that's going to be really distracting for anyone trying to listen to your stuff. It pretty much renders it unenjoyable, but it's nothing that a bunch of practice won't fix.

You see, the non-live sorts of things were demos I assembled by myself. Keeping tempo is one of the main weaknesses of my drumming, which somewhat craps the rest of the recording up. Guitar is my first instrument.
My band is something that I just kinda use for live performances, as of now. We could be better if we practiced, but that really rarely happens. My drummer is really an awesome player, but he's rather flaky. So, this is really partially just a solo project.
Another problem is that I usually wait until there's no one in my house when I do a recording. That doesn't happen all too often, so these demos also sort of get tossed together in a short-ish time span.
Thanks for listening. |

| That's really a shame. You should either use a drum machine and overdub the cymbals, or get a band together that's good and will practice, because I think these songs are really good.

| I like the actual songs, even if the production isn't optimum. I like how you change time signatures on Valentines Day, it feels cool. I like the sound of Puppy Love too.
I understand only recording when everyone else is out of the house, I feel the same. I hate to record with other people around.

| Valentines Day is another one I need to make my own recording for. I wrote it only a week or so before the performance, so it wasn't that solid. I have another unrecorded one that changes time sigs a lot. I really like 5/8 for some reason.
Thanks for listening. Yes, recording when people are home is like asking for random barge-ins, dog barks, background talking, people trying to get you. Just messy stuff.
I was planning a band recording today, but the drummer was a no-show. So it'll probably be another solo recording sometime soon. |

| Well, we've finally practiced once again. Yesterday. I will sort through the recorded material later, but for now, here's a really hardcore jam we did as a joke. Maybe someone will find it entertaining.

| OK, for some real stuff. This was recorded with just 2 mics. A room mic to pick up the instruments, and a vocal mic. More from this session later... |

| Jon -
I'm listening to Puppy Love right now. I really like this song. My only complaint is the vocals. You have a really good voice, you just don't seem confident when you sing, if that makes sense. But keep it up!

| I'll see if I can redo the vocals. I get what you're saying by the weak aspect of that take. |

| Alright, threw out the live vocal take (yay for seperately recording stuff), here's a new one. I also happened to double chorus vox and the vocal solo. |

| Rosea Some folks might know my band as Third World Heroes. However, as of late we have turned into Rosea. Same band, same music, new name. We've figured (maybe it was just me...) that as we're undertaking a good bunch of recording this summer, it was time to come up with a strong "official" name. And Rosea is the result of that.
So check out some tunes. http://www.myspace.com/roseamusic |
