I think Stevie is the best. I also like to hear Glenn Campbell. I know he is not known as a great guitar player but he is. He played as a studio musician for a long time before he cut his own album. He also was a "Beach Boy" for a while. Try to get past the songs that he sings and listen to him play. I think you will be in awe.

Dang, I'm supposed to follow that? Anyways . . .

I have to say that Steven Curtis Chapman is one of the most overlooked guitarists in the world. I think he's been mentioned like, twice on this list so far, but anyways -- his stuff is really difficult to play -- if you don't believe me, go out and buy one of his folios and then try to play it. Then, the stuff of his that I can play just doesn't come out sounding the same way that he does. Also, I like Clapton and then Phil Keaggy is one of the most talented guitarists ever as well. Also, I have to mention matt Odmark and Stephen Mason as really awesome guitarists, too. (for those that don't know -- they're the Jars of Clay dudes that play guitar.) That's my short list, I suppose -- I could sit all day and talk about talented guitarists, but I'm sure y'all want to get on to reading other threads, so I'll cut it short here.

In Him,
+ <>< Stephen
Yeah I can play the guitar. I know all about virtuosos and trembalos and arpeggios. I can do it all. I can play your basic rhythm guitar, like. jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga JAH JAH jiggidy jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga jug jigga JAH JAAH. You know, something like that. I can also play some pretty hott lixx, too. You know, the kind that are just way up high on the tiny strings and you mash your fingers on 'em. meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley meedley MEEEEEEEEEEE. Yeah, yeah And then Strong Mad comes in on his bass and he's like dou dow da dou dou dow da dou dow dow dow dow dow dou. And then the Cheat comes in with his keyboard and he's like boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boo and then I'm like "And the dragon comes in the NIIIiiiiIIIiiiiIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiIIIIIIIIiiiIIGH

Oh yeah.

My blog that sometimes goes a long time without me posting, but I still like it . . .

the guitarist or guitarists from:

Extol, Living Sacrifice, Embodyment, Metallica, Megadeth, Creed

all are rather incredible.

uhh, whoever recognized phil keaggy as the best is exactly right. he is hands down the best guitarist in the world. in the 60's i think rolling stone asked jimi hendrix how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world and he was like "i dunno, why don't you ask phil keaggy"? i saw phil keaggy at a guitar clinic near me (cary, N.C.) and he absolutely amazing-unreal. never did he once play a simple chord like G or E. never. he played chords he had made up and were almost impossible looking. on his right hand, he's missing a middle finger! now that's incredible. God truly has given him more than a talent! if you haven't heard phil keaggy and you still think van halen, santana, all those secular guys and also those great guitarists like matt odbark who won an award for guitarist of the year (for secular and christian) along with the guy from switchfoot, check out phil. you will definately change your mind!
