| 1st Christian Church Found in Armageddon?? I am not 100% sure this belongs in Theology, so please move to where ever you think it needs to be if not here. Do any of you know anything about this? I saw a portion on the news and also my Pastor had said something about it, but I am just wondering what you all think about this, and what it means. Is this prophecy?

| No it isn't prophesy. It is nothing more than an archaeological find that has spurred an enormous amout of speculation.

| The word Armaggedon was just thrown in there for hype purposes. They could have easily said, 'earliest church found near bethlelhem or found in Israel'. However, by using 'armaggedon' they get you thinking about prophecy and end times even though the church and armaggedon are more than likely completely unrelated. |

The church apparently really is near the hill of Armageddon. I don't see why printing that it's near Armageddon is just for hype if it's true. |

The general population I think, associates the word armageddon with the end times, not with a mountain in Israel. |

| I see no prophecy saying "A church from 1600 years ago will be unearthed, and the end shall come." An interesting archelogical find, but I don't see how anyone could think this is in any way "Prophetic".

| A cool find, but with no eschatological relevance.
...And to think that they were going to build a jail there.
