I didn't start until I was 17, but man it is a lot of fun, AND addictive. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play much since I moved to my new school, doesn't seem like there are many tennis players here.

That's nothing, when I was playing 5 days a week, I was re-stringing about once a week.

I absolutely LOVE tennis!! except I can never get anyone to play with me... my mom loves it but is too busy to play, my dad isn't crazy about it (hates chasing after balls!! ) and my sis' don't have time. but one outside wall of our house is exactly the width of a tennis net, and its brick, rectangular, and perfect for practicing on, so I practice alot out there-- after all, they say your toughest competition is a wall!!
