| My roomate is seeing it right now, and I will be going with some friends tonite. I'm not a big fan of The Rock, or video-games-turned-movie, but I've still gotta see it. |

| They screwed it up since it is from a first-person shooter perspective. |

| It's only a few scenes in the first person view from what I've seen/heard. |

That's one of the selling points of the movie, Doom was one of the first famous (Wolfenstein 3D being the first) FPSs in the genre, it's required that they do a FP view in points of the movie.

It does not work in a movie, but, since it is only a few scenes, I can live with it.
The original Doom was so much cooler than the others. |

| I just got word a few hours ago that this is the worst movie ever. Apparently it completely does not follow the Doom game storyline, and its boring, one of my friends actually fell asleep. Anyway, I am still going to see it because I've got nothing better to do tonite, thus I will report back with my personal opinion at a later time. |

| Dude, I knew it would suck because it's a movie (come on, say it with me) based on a video game. It's not meant to be on a big screen. Or rather, it's not meant to be watched on a big screen.
I'm still interested in the FPS sequences, though. It's a cool idea to try and translate some of that (whether it's good or bad, it's still pretty cool, at least in concept). |

| Yes I'm fully aware that the movie was destined to suck, although that did not discourage my choice to see it.
Well, I don't want to give it away, but Doom is based on hell, well, demons coming from hell or what not and taking over the base, correct? .... well apparently hell has nothing to do with the outbreak of imps in this movie, I'm really not sure how it happens in the movie though, my friends were too distraught upon their return to go into any details. |

Why does everyone want "Doom: the game: the movie"? Resident Evil didn't follow the plot, neither did Mortal Kombat, and Mario didn't follow it exactly either, but those were great movies.
It's not going to be Star Wars: A New Hope, or Spider Man, but whupdee-fraggin'-doo, it doesn't have to be a super great blockbuster to end all movies to be a good movie. I saw this same sort of reaction to Hellboy, Chronicles of Riddick, and many other Sci-fi and Fantasy movies, but honestly, those movies are good, even if they aren't Return of the King.
My two cent's worth.
