Wait, you're telling me that there is actually a name for the BFG other than "big ****ing gun"?

Yeah I was just as surprised when "BFG - Bio Force Gun" was captioned below the picture respectfully on the screen of a computer in the weapons development facility. But with The Rock's comment I was certainly reassured of it's true meaning.

Alright I just got back from seeing it. It started out ok, then just got worse. The FPS stance was cool for the first 10 seconds, but like he said, it just got repetive. The ending I thought was stupid. The suspence was ok but not gripping you, and alot of stuff was unexplained and "How'd she/he/that get there?" sorta stuff. I give it a 4/10. The Rock I thought didnt do that good. Really none of them did, 'cept the guy that lived at the end he was ok. I wouldnt waste your money on it, I get more scared playing the game.

Yes, they definitely could have just released a video of someone playing Doom 3 for a few hours and it would have been better.

Do the monsters at least look compelling?

I'm working on my own Super Mario Bros. screenplay. Imagine Super Mario Bros. done as dissociative horror - two kind-hearted working class brothers ferried by an occultic underground pipe system to a dreamscape of fragile beauty and leering monsters. Menaced and aided by creatures of myth and hideous sentient abominations, they seek after the only other true human of whom they receive rumor: a shadowy princess hidden in a haunted castle. Also, Luigi dies.

Imagine Jean-Pierre Jeunet mixed with H.P. Lovecraft with the visual elements of Mirrormask, and experimental progressive composers Shub-Niggurath team up with folk-madness genius Tom Waits to do the soundtrack . That would be Il Regno di Fungo, and it would be the best video game movie, ever.

Until then, **** like this will keep streaming out to theaters. The Rock. I love and hate him in the same breath.

Fine, we can introduce a jive-talking nerdy sidekick to the Mario Bros., and kill him off.

Also, Wario is played by Steve Buscemi.

Anyway, were the monsters in Doom worthwhile?

Steve Buscemi, hell yes.

It's wierd, on the other forum I visit, everyone there said they were surprised at how good it was.

Just like the ones in the game. Apparently the....thing....can determine who it wants to effect, who will be a demon, who will have superhuman powers (just one), and who it will turn into a supermonster (like 2 i think). So some of the monsters are just zommbie like, some are skinny little monsters, some are normal size, one was pretty big, and one was friggin huge but kinda handicaped . It wasnt a total waste of money, but im not going to see it again in theatre. A bunch of stuff didnt make sense though, which Im not going to get into right now.

You get superpowers if you are "good"
And you turn into a moster if you are 'bad"

Frankly, I will not and have not seen this movie, I just got back from the theatres where everyone of my friends saw Doom when instead I saw another movie. From the reviews I've seen on Christian Spotlight, the movie seems incredibly offensive.

Yet another extremely violent video game turned into an extremely violent movie. I think I'll pass.

Woo hoo, free advertising for my blog!

Anyway, it all sounds like what I thought it'd be. I'll wait till it comes out on DVD.

My local newspaper (which I generally agree with) said it had no redeeming qualities at all... I'd probably agree but there's no way I'd waste the $3.50 to rent it.
