You mean like, whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, etc?
I don't know that stuff fluently, but it'll be easy enough to learn, I'm sure.

Here's a quick tip:

If you're not sure exactly where to put the measure bar lines, but you want or need them in the music, highlight everything, cut it (shift+x or or just hit the cut button) and then paste it back (shift+v). The bar lines will all be placed correctly. If you want to take them out, you need to move the keyboard cursor over the bar line and hit the measure button (it's just a vertical line). Hope that helps.

Just DLed the prog now. For some reason, it wouldn't DL from Georgia or Missouri, so I tried Japan. That worked fine.

I'm new here, so forgive me if someone has already asked this.

I noticed both of these programs are for Windows, and I have an Imac. Is there an equivalent program for the mac available?

Unfortunately, no. Although, if you'd like, you can ask the tabber to export the ptab to text and midi and post it. That's the only consolation I can give you.

Wow, I'd never heard of TabIt until just awhile ago.

I DLed it and gave it a shot. I gotta say, it's terrible. No rhythm notation of any kind? So how is someone using a printed page from TabIt supposed to know how the tune sounds rhythmically? Reading rhythm is the absolute easiest part of reading music. Anyone can learn to read basic rhythm in mere minutes- literally. Tab without rhythm is almost useless.

Another thing- how can one import a midi file into TabIt so that the program converts it to tab for you? I didn't see this function anywhere, maybe I just missed it. With Powertab, you just import a midi file and there's the tab.

Powertab really isn't difficult to use, y'know.

Excellence for free or mediocrity for $20. Hmmm, tough choice.
