Wouldn't Adam and Eve lead to inbreeding?

Wouldnt Adam and Eve lead to inbreeding? Wouldnt that make us all mutated freaks?

No, because Adam and Eve had the information for the whole human race in their genes.

As the timeline continues the gene pool becomes smaller and loses information. This is why God made the law that you should not marry close relatives, because if a man and woman come together ( in marriage ) and they have a similar gene pool (like brother and sister for example) that can cause problems.

Not sure if that makes sense, but I tried

Is this actually a serious question? If it is cool, but if it isn't, then I won't waste my time writing an opinion.

I don't know if the person who posted was serious, but I'd seriously like to hear more on it. Could you post your opinion?

It doesn't make sense.

Why do you feel comfortable making up a scientific explanation out of thin air, evo? How is this not bearing false witness?

Yes, there is no other option than inbreeding.

No, that would not make us all mutated freaks because, clearly, we are NOT all mutated freaks.

It's an answer. Laws about incest weren't created until way after Adam and Eve.

It's not an answer. You made up a bunch of crap, then wrote it. How is that not bearing false witness? What you said is not true and even a cursory fact-check about genetics would tell you that.

Aha! How do you KNOW we're not all mutilated freaks? We could all be horrible mutants who are very similar to each other.

Thats the view held by many, and no, it isn't 'making up a bunch of crap'. I'll leave it at that for now.

Evo's answer was more scientific than biblical.

Ooorrrr...

Adam and Eve might not have been the first people made, they might have just been the favorites, since the Bible talks of God creating humanity, and going on about what He did for them, and then talks about the creation of Adam, and subsequently Eve. It's possible that there were other people created during the sixth day besides Adam and Eve, Adam and Eve are just the most important since they are basically the "head of the clan" all current humans belong to. Whereever (if, I'm a theistic evolutionist, but that's a different thread) Eden exists, there may be humans that are different from us, and Adam and Eve may not have been the only ones to fall (though they were the first).

The idea of Adam containing all of what we are is actually a bit Qabbalistic (not the red bracelet crap, the philosophies that came around in the Middle ages), replace the word "genes" with "spirit" and it's the Qabbalistic view of Adam.

"Where did Cain's wife come from?"

Not nearly as much as say, theistic evolution, but works for sci-fi movies.
