Exclamation Winter Guitars w/basswood body. Hot/Not???

Hi. I have been offered an opportunity to purchase 2 guitars both made by Winter Guitars for a total of $280. The first one is a exact clone of a Epiphone black/gold Les Paul Custom and the second is a Ibenez clone with dual humbuckers, 24 frets. Both guitars are made out of a basswood body and rosewood fretboards. I was thinking about putting 81/85 emg's in both guitars. I don't know that much about guitars and I was wondering if this is a good deal or would I later regret this purchase. Thank you for your help. Matthew.

no need to post the same thing twice.

that being said, i don't know much about the brand, but basswood isn't a bad wood. it's a bit soft though...but IMO it sounds decent.
